I have a question - Since joining I have noticed the term/abbreviation "DH" - at first I thought maybe it was the name of someone's significant other but than I noticed more & more people using the term but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it means
Can someone help me out with this?

I've always thought it meant Dear Husband although I also see DW (wife) DS (son) DD (daughter) used on various forums

I thought it meant Darling Wife/Husband/ect...
And that S/O was Significant Other. I have seen a few abbrevs that I don't know what they mean but can't for the life of me remember em now.

How about this guys: have any of you ever used net abbreviations verbally? (Whether it be accidental or not.)

I was an IRC addict when I was younger.. always chatting! Eventually I started using the lingo in every day life- and not purposefully either. After many years of 'recovery' I've gotten a handle (pun!) on it.
Although by reflex I still sometimes say "brb", "lol", "lmao", "wt f" and "/me".

Edit: There is an internet lingo dictionary too (NetLingo) if anyone ever needs to look something up!

I sometimes write emails to people that I don't know well and always have to backspace off an lol, b/c, w/o, w/e and typing in a smiley face
It's such a habit!

Lee [Persi & Alley] posted about using 'DW' verbally.
