I sold my house and my new house wont be ready for another 3 months and i am going to stay with my parents. They said that my best friend panther must stay in their new 3000 sq foot barn which is fully enclosed with a gravel bed. My problem is that this is in the country and their are tons of mice in the barn. Do you think that panther will be safe in the barn for a few months I would not dare let him roam with all the predators. I am more worried about him getting sick from rodents and from the psycological stress of living a privileged life indoors with me. I feel awful but I really have nobody that can take him. Do you think that he will be healthy living in the barn? I am going to the vet to make sure he has all the vacinations he needs and i will be definately be giving him flea and tick mediction.

I really feel bad about this, any advice, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

He should be fine, and actually quite happy to have so much prey available!
Just be sure and worm him regularly (with your vet's advice and medication) because mice carry parasites. But if Panther gets worming meds, he should be just fine, though he will miss you being cooped up in a barn all the time. I am curious why he can't go in the house?

One more important thing I forgot to mention. The barn has two windows but is quite dark inside. I was thinking of taking panther out in the sun for 30 minutes a day. How much light does a cat need to be healthy?????

I would spend as much time with the cat as possible. Cats LOVE being outside. You may also want to gradually introduce your baby to your parents. My Dad was old school too, until he fell in love.
