Tybalt you crack me up!!!
You are so crazy!

I know you have a problem with this situation, but, I have been dirt poor to the point of digging through trash to get cans to cash in to feed my children. (My 1st hubby was hit and killed by a car and had no insurance.)

I know what helpless feels like and would also ask folks for help that they didn't seem to have the time for. I had to walk to Dr. Appts when I was preg as I had no car.

At least this person is trying to help with information to convinse the grandma to think again about this cat. Standing up to a person who could put you out on the street is pretty brave in my book.

Ok I'll step off the soap box now...

Gothic Amethyst, I can't believe that you are surprised that people are angry. Haven't you noticed a common theme in all of the threads you start?

1. You beg for help, saying it is urgent and an emergency situation

2. People respond, out of the kindness of their hearts and concern for your cats, and offer what advice they can.

3. You turn around and reply that none of the advice can be followed, and then make it sound like no one cares.

4. People get upset because you asked for help and now are essentially refusing the help that is offered.

5. You get mad because people have the nerve to be upset or angry with you.

6. Your threads get closed. Gee, is there a pattern here, or is it just me?

The only choice I have is newspaper and my family out of this county is gonna send coworkers and friends here first so I can give as many away as possible before I have to put them in paper.

You and Princess Purr both think this is a common thing. I noticed that too. But it's not Just because of me. If people would just PM me when they are mad instead of posting it wouldnt happen. They would stay open and not get closed.
Reply per number to mom:
1: I have never said this was an emergency or begged for help of anykind EXCEPT to know if it was possible that a mother can have to many kittens for her immunse system since she was perfectly healthy before she had them. All I wanted was a yes or no.
2:I know and as always I say thanks.
3:I never said none of the advice could be followed and I never ever have said noone cares.
4:I have never once refused help. there is no help to refuse except words which I always have listened to.
5:The threads get closed because noone will PM me like I have asked instead of getting angry. These forums are about the cats not the members. if noone got angry or if they did and pm'd the threads would remain clean and not need closing

if you would just take the advice and say okay I will get her to a vet instead of saying no i can't take her to a vet, then no one would get mad.

Gothic Amethyst, why don't you go to school to become a vet? Then you will never have to worry again about people asking you to take your cats to a vet!

I am a registered nurse, and I would not presume to diagnose or make treatment recommendations on a medical condition for a human (other than common sense ones). My answer when people ask me is, "Go see your doctor."

Only a vet can diagnose an animal's medical condition, just like only an MD or DO can diagnose a human's. As far as I know, none of us on here are vets. Please don't ask us to make a diagnosis.

I cant lie. Im not gonna say im taking her and then let her get taken to the paound because i couldnt find some info to convince my stubborn grandma to take her to the vet. I shouldnt have to even convince her since im paying but she doesnt care. I want to take her that was y I needed someone to tell me whether or not it was possible to be nutrition related because of the kittens since she was healthy before. She told me that if I can prove she's saveable she'll mess with vet. That was y I asked my question about the kittens and her being skinny.

Actually I had thought of the vet job before because I love animals, but I knew it wouldnt work. I took felix and his mother to be fixed and both times I was bawling...just over a fix..I cant handle taking my cats in without crying...picture if i was treating someone elses...why do you think i have so many cats..I havnt let her take the strays to the pound and tamed and fed them. I know they can be giving away and be normal loving cats. She never has and said they are like muts and do nothing but poop all over the yard and walk all over her car.

I know noone can diagnose, but I do know that many cat owners may have heard or have their own experiance with skinny cats and know what the possible causes are. My plan was to get proof that I can do something about it to convince her to let me take her.

Doesn't the opinion of many people who are cat owners that THIS CAT NEEDS TO SEE A VET mean anything? I would say that you got the answer you were looking for.

I didn't notice a single person posting, "Ah, just let the cat die. It's hopeless." We all have said the same thing over and over.

Only the vet will be able to diagnose what is causing the cat's problem and tell you if she has something terminal or can be treated and cured.

I just...i AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I feel better now

Please explain to your grandmother that if the cat dies because she did not take it to the vet the animal cops can come and get her for neglect. I see it on animal planet all the time. If an animal is sick and is not given proper care that is neglect.

I know that she needs a vet....that was the whole point of this thread to get some info to convince her. Since someone mentioned stuff like pediolite, Im gonna see if she wont let me take her to the vet if I can atleast take care of her and her not have to go to the vet. Since she wants to give them all away, I think she thinks this is an easy excuse to get rid of one..which it's not. she doesnt deserve to die because she"looks bad" in grandmother's words.

yelling doesnt ever help me. I yell to relive tension and my grandmother not liking my cats is still here *sigh*

Anyway...I tried to threaten the neglect thing and she said if i start that she will get a cage and take them all (including the 4 of mine that im keeping that werent strays) to the pound before I wake up so I cant stop her. That was her way of getting me to stop bugging her. She took one of mine to the pound before when I was asleep and I still bug her and am pissed off. Hopefully this is just a threat...
Atleast she is still feeding them and letting me TRY to find good homes. Id die if she suddendly decided to take them all to the pound.

In answer to your Grandmother's question - the only person who can say for sure if the cat can be saved or is worth treating is a VET. That is what everyone is really saying here, but in different ways. It could be something "small" in terms of cat health, like your speculation that the kittens have just drained all the energy from her. It could be something a little more intense. Most of the time, cats can be cured just like humans if they seek medical attention when they are ill. The longer you wait the worse Momma Cat's condition will get, to the point where the medical care she needs may be out of your price range, or she will be too far gone to help. The condition you are describing could be any number of things, and your thought could be right on. More than likely she isn't too far gone.....yet. Please tell your Grandmother than she needs to get to the Vet asap.

The reason I think it's something small like my kitten health drain idea is she acts just as normal, happy, hungry, and ennergetic as always. As a result I think aslong as I can talk grandma out of taking her to the pound (vet or not) that she will be ok once her kittens are weaned if I can find some of that nutrigel stuff. Either way I plan to take her to the vet asap...I just am having a heck of a time talking her into it. All these cats has her pissed off. I think if I had less cats she'd have been more likely to take her to the vet instead of doing the easy way out.

I was just rereading you first post and if she is not done weaning yet why isn't she eating the same food as the kittens anyway? I thought that nursing moms and pregant cats were supposed to eat kitten food?

just because i dont have photos in my signature doesnt mean that my cats arent real. I dont say you dont have cats. it's just as possible for anyone to say they have cats and dont. even you. I posted a photo of felix in the ball hanging out of sac thread. I can post more if u want. and I can prove they are my cats if u use yahoo i can turn on my cam for you...or I can post photos of me and a kittie with a word or name written on paper.
Princess Purr: I know you and others are wondering about the kitten photo. I only had one on my last roll of film the rest are on my current roll which still isnt full. I am susposed to pic the film up sometime this week. The photos of my cats I will post I take with my webcam and carry them to my room. My webcam wont work for the kittens since it must be attatched to the comp. that's y the kitten photo isnt ready yet. the film had to be sent off and developed.
