Need advice about Ali!

So the kittens are 2 weeks old now. Ali's nipples were not really cleared around them very well when the kittens were born, but I started noticing her pulling fur out around them the day they were born. Now, there is quite a clearing around them. LIke at least an inch or 2 in diameter. And it is scabby now. She is making sounds like it hurts when they start nursing. I looked online and i really don't think it's mastitis, as it's not the nipples and its not swollen. It's just the area around the nipples. Can I put anything on it without it hurting the kittens when they nurse? I want to get her feeling better! Anyone deal with this before? And yeah, it's around all nipples. It looks like she just pulled fur out and now its scabbed!

help?

Um, I don't really know what to say, but just don't use any medication you don't know about, as you don't want the kittens eating it.
I did some research, and I found this, and it sounded similar to your problem

You can try squeezing out a little of her milk and gently rub it into the sore areas. This works with nursing humans so it should work for your cat as well. Also there is a product for nursing moms who have cracked nipples. I don't remember what is in it but its completly safe for human babies. Good luck!

Massage a little veggie oil around the area and nipple. It will not hurt mom or kittens. She will lick herself clean and that should help.
