Sphynx were not accepted by Cfa until 1998.
I was looking at Peterbalds but fond out they can not be shown in Tica or Cfa so I decided not to get one.

When you put the cat in the show, you will be given a catalog with the ring schedules and your cat's number for that day. They will tell you where you will be benched.

I always circle the rings I need (kitten, alter, etc) under each judge. Those are the rings you will be going to (not necessarily Ring 1 will go first)

Keep the number of your kitten in mind as this is what you look for when they put the groups up in the rings. They will call the numbers they need. Since they go alphabetically, Bengals will be in the first group under that judge. If its an Allbreed ring (long and short hair against each other) the longhairs go first, but still keep an eye on which rings will be next in line. You may be called to another ring first and then go back to the other ring.

Also, judging takes precedence over a final. If your kitten is called for a final and another ring needs him for judging, you go to the judging ring FIRST and tell the clerk in the final ring that you will get your kitten back as soon as he's done in # ring.

Most times judge try to accomadate the other judge and will postpone the finals for a few mins till the other judge is finished.

In ACFA and TICA you can show one day or both days. If you are brand new to things, you probably would handle one day only so you get the idea of what you are doing.

Any other questions, just pm me.
Thanks! This is the kind of thing I don't know about.

Here is the TICA website: http://tica.org/

I would say you should plan for a entire weekend show. The first day to get the hang of things and the second day to really start to feel confortable and be confident that you know how things work for your next show.

Bengal kittens are smart and intuitive and being kittens they are all about having fun.

The first day will be a bit scary and daunting for them, but by the end of the day, they will begin to realize it's not so bad and some fun can be had at the show. Then.... they get to go home or to the hotel, a comfort zone.

The second day they go back to the showhall for more of the same of the first day. Now they already know the routine and are more relaxed and the big pay off at the end, is they get to go back home to their comfort zone.

I think this imprints on them that the show is an adventure, but they get to go back home after the adventure. Back to their familiar stomping grounds.

I don't think a one day show provides the imprinting.

Just my opinion, but I have found this to be pretty accurate with the bengal breed.

Of course the disclaimer is, that some bengals (including all the other breeds) will not like the showhall no matter what. The only way to find out is to show them.
Good Point. I didn't think about that.

It was a dead group for months but is busy now.
There might be someone in your area that can help you.
One of them is loaning me a table cloth to put under the show tent because the one my mentor is making is not done yet.
I know some of them live in Texas.
I'll have to look at that.

My aunt sent updated pictures. I want to see what everyone thinks including Nial. I'll post them tonight once I get home.

Here are more pictures of Akira...she looks like her Mommy!

I wonder how she will turn out. If she will stay this way or lighten up with a cream background. What do you think, Nial?

I posted new pics last night if anyone wanted to see how she has developed so far. I think my aunt will be sending me more pics on her interacting with Bucky, a cute litte dog.

She's gorgeous
thanks for sharing the newer photos.

I don't think she'll lighten up any, bengals hardly ever do. She will probably darken some though.

She's a fairly 'blonde' bengal though, as in she doesn't have much black in her, her tail tip is black though which shows that she's a special type of brown tabby instead of chocolate tabby which some people might guess from seeing just her body (bengals don't come in chocolate as well)

She is definately a rufous color, but you are right about the black not being there. She was the only one that looked like that and she is very into her toys, etc. I will practice with her, but already told my aunt that when she breeds Emma and she sees one that is show quality that I would love to show that cat so I can promote her cattery down here.

How is Nikita, Sigga? I still can't believe that I had the chance to meet both of you. It was so much fun!

Nikita is well
she's actually sitting where her leash is and howling at me right now because she wants to go outside. I usually take her this time on weekends.

I should probably get off the computer and do her bidding, brb

My aunt bought me a harness and leash to take my bengal on walks. Do you actually "walk" somewhere or just go out with her?

It's raining so it was just a short trip.

I just take her into the garden behind the house. Cats are really territorial and she freaks out if I take her into unfamiliar territory. However she 'walks' nicely with me on the leash down the stairs in the apartment building from the door on my flat and out and into the garden.

Once in the garden I just follow her around, I've got a flexi lead that can extend out 12 feet so I mostly stand or sit in one place an make sure the lead doesn't get tangled while she goes around sniffing everything.

It does, doesn't it?
I love how she curls her tail around her body when she eats.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
You definitely forgot the CUTENESS warning!
WHAT a baby doll! She looks like she's going to be a character.
She is absolutely adorable.

So when does she come home?
