Over the river and through the woods...
Just a bit of complaining here. I used to work 9:45am to 6:15 pm for over a year now. Every now and then, I would get a later shift but it would last for the whole week. Starting this week, it's all screwed up.

Mon- 12:30-9:00
Tue- 9:30-6:00
Wed- 11:00-7:30
Thru- 9:00-5:30
Fri- 9:30-6:00

So today I'm enjoying a relaxing morning, but tomorrow is going to SUCK! I won't get home tonight until almost 10:00, and I need at least 3 hours to eat and relax before I'm ready for bed so that will be around 1:00am, and I'll have to get up at 7:00am to be coherent enough to get to work by 9:30.

Don't get me wrong, I'm SO thankful to have a job right now, but I REALLY don't do well with schedules like this.

Did they give you notice that they were changing the schedule?

So far as dinner goes, why not cook something this morning and take it with you to work and have it at dinner time around 5 or 6 pm? That way when you get home you can just shower, unwind in front of the TV for a bit and then go to bed.

When I used to work 12 hour shifts from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm, that's what I did. I ate my supper at supper time. Then when I got home I packed up food (left overs) for my lunch and dinner the next day too.

That sucks that they just changed your schedule without warning.
I'm tired of my constantly changing schedule too.
It makes it hard to plan around work.

I feel for you! I started this job last May with schedule of noon-8:30pm, Mon-Fri. It changed to Wed-Sun with the same hours a couple of months later. Now it is:

Fri 9am-9pm
Sat 11am-9pm
Sun 11am-9pm
Mon 9am-8pm

I hate it. Especially the 12 hours between last night and this morning. Ugh! I, too, am super thankful to have a job. Hopefully, this small business will survive and we'll be able to hire more people when the economy gets better.

I'm still in touch with my ex bf Gil, and he recently left the farm to work on the butchers counter at a large supermarket. His schedule is all different times as well, along with having his days changed and it's made him so unhappy. He just can't get into the swing of it

It looks like it would be really hard to keep track of your hours and remember what time you have to be at work everyday. Expecially if your hours are different from this next week.

When I was a manager at papa john's, there were times I would have to close as a driver 11pm or midnight, and be back in to open the store at 9am. It was annoying as all hell...

My schedule changes every week so I am used to it. For the most part, I get Tuesdays off but not always. Some weeks I will only have 25 hours and then theres times when I work 8 days in a row. I just finished 8 days in a row and I am exhausted.

I hate when I have to work 1:30-9:30 and then open at 9:30am the next morning because it feels like I barely even left.

I hated when my hours changed when I worked retail. Especially when I'd work 1:30-10:30, then they'd have me open in the morning and I'd have to be there at 7:30am!

Luckily the job I have now, I can basically set my own hours. I'm "scheduled" for 8-5, but can come in as early as 6:30-7am and leave by 2:30-3pm with no questions or problems.
