Call me behind the times, but I just discovered something called "social bookmarking." Now I have no need or desire to share my bookmarks, but the idea of having them stored online is something I'd find useful. I use several computers and several browsers and it's just a royal pain keeping bookmarks synchronized. If you've got recommendations on which site is best, let me know why you think so. Thanks.....

Personally, I like Foxmarks. They began as a sync tool for Firefox bookmarks, but their new apps have just come out of beta. These are for IE and Mac's Safari, and Foxmarks will sync your bookmarks not only from one computer to the next, but also across the different browsers. Very cool.

I installed the Foxmarks plugin then uninstalled it. Foxmarks is too intrusive. I don't want anything that hijacks my browser. If they all work the same way, then I guess I'm not interested.

Ah, I didn't know that. On a Mac or Linux, it's just an add on, not a plug in. I apologize, I'd not done any experimenting with the Windows version.

Another you might look at is Yahoo bookmarks. I used to use them. The bookmarks are stored online and can be accessed through the Yahoo toolbar or a personalized webpage.

No problem. I'm very close to getting another computer, and leaning strongly toward a Mac, anyway.

i've only tried one, & i didn't like it - took too long to 'move' things. that was del.icio.us.
i'm going to have to look into the yahoo one, tho.
