Music Personality Quiz - what music best suits you?

Soft Rock/Adult Contemporary
Ah, the sweet sounds of soft rock. You tend to enjoy having fun but like your peace and quiet too. You love songs with great melodies without too many drumbeats. Sipping a glass of wine and relaxing with your favorite tunes in the background is the perfect evening.

Mine says this:

Classical
Turn down the lights; you're ready for the peaceful beauty of classical music. You tend to enjoy relaxing days off and really appreciate your alone time. Rock 'n' roll is cool, but you prefer to soothe your headache with Beethoven or Bach.

I don't think that's accurate, though. I prefer Hard Rock/Metal and I listen to Country at work. Neither of those were an option at all! LOL

The groove is in the air and the rhythm is in your bones. You tend to enjoy rich vocals, soulful lyrics and grooving rhythms. You may be found singing your heart out in the shower. You're a soul queen, so live it up!

I can handle that, but I really love classical music. By the way, Classical with a capital C means the music of Haydn, Mozart, and early Beethoven. I like Romantic classical, which is late Beethoven, Chopin, Tschaikovsky, etc., and in usually not at all peaceful. It can be, but it's very emotional! Oh, I turn up the bass, too, and love kettledrums! Of course, you have to have soft, melodic parts too! But there's a reason the symphony orchestra is so big! And operatic voices can fill a hall with no microphone. It's a misconception that classical music is soft and slow. I shouldn't get started on the subject!

Get into the groove! You tend to be upbeat, so your music should be too. You love to dance and feel the beat. You've probably been known to sing in the car and bop around in your seat. There's no doubt rock 'n' roll revolutionized music, so be proud to be a part of the pop culture.

(I have wasted my morning taking every single one of these quizzes, ady....

classical here. I agree with you totally Jeanie. My favourite composer is Tschaikovsky and many of his works are definitely NOT calm and soothing. I'm a musician from waaaay back - I play Trombone, Trumpet, French Horn and I taught myself piano. I've just started teaching myself the violin but I cannot STAND the awful scratching and shreiking noises I'm making!

You gotta love those booming trombones in the 1812 Overture!

Tania, not to neglect the cannons and cathedral bells! (This is the one played at the climax of the fireworks, guys) Trombone was my first brass instrument, so I'm partial to it also.

You couldn't possibly be as bad as I am at violin. I couldn't stand to practice more than a few minutes; it hurt my ears. My cats loved my playing, however, and rolled around in the red velvet violin case. I think they were in love-spayed or not. I think I sounded like a tom cat on a fence in an alley!

Tschaikovsky is great, but I sometimes think God put His hand over Beethoven's to show man how music should sound! It is transforming.

LOL Mate! I've had to stop practising the violin - I broke a string tuning it and am too embarassed to ask how to fit a new one.
I dunno, maybe I'm just a brass gal at heart - I can pick up any of them and be making a decent tune in about 10 minutes. Not so with this darn violin!

I guess my favorite soothing piece is Pachelbel's Canon. I could listen to that all day. It's on a tape I have with some other very moving pieces so I don't get to listen to it very often, unless I'm alone with lots of tissues. LOL

My favourite non-brass instrument would have to be the cello. So beautiful with those warm, rich tones.

Tania, Grit your teeth, go to the music store, violin in hand, get the string put on, buy ear plugs and ear muffs and suffer!! Part of the problem is that you probably have a beginner's violin. That's the excuse I used! Seriously, the strings certainly are the stars of the orchestra, aren't they?

right on target for me too. I will drive down the street and sing my heart out if there is something I want to sing to. and yes I have been known to dance in my seat now and again while driving. is that a hazard???
