Awwww. She looks soo sweet. Her little incision is only about 1/2 inch long with 2 cross stitches. She is still out of it. They let me pick her up after surgery was finished by about an hr. I just went in and checked her and she is kinda awake and wobbly. I moved her to the dog crate that has the litter box just in case. I had her ear tipped because she is going to be release back to my barn. I really want to keep her inside, but everyone from the rescue group to the vet agrees that when a torti/calico decides that she hates dogs, that it is part of her personality. Also, we think the way she and her sister survived in the wild out here is to learn to dislike dogs as to keep life less stressful the vet said she though putting her back out would make her the happiest. She loves being in the back room, but living in one room and getting visited by us several times a day isn't a life. Outside she will have 4 other sisters to hang out with, and orange cat (who is neutered). there is a big 2 story barn to run in and play in and climb in and lots of food and water and love and fans in the summer and lots of blankets and cat houses in the winter. I will keep her in till she has healed and back to normal.

I have volunteered to socialize feral kittens for the TNR group that has helped me with my girls here. THey seem convinced that I could tame anything. I think they give me too much credit, but I will give it a try. Just so I don't fall in love with anymore. Of course, a 6 toed female cali would mean all bets are off. I'd have to have her.

Hooray for giving the little princess a good shot at a great life
My Maine Coon would quickly volunteer to live in your barn....he's always desperate to be wandering about outside

catsknowme, your guy is always welcome for a visit. It's like DisneyWorld for cats out here. It's so nice out here even the ferals that visit never leave.
Smoke is doing much better this morning. She really wants out of the dog crate tho. I let her out for a short time while I was with her, and she didn't really want to go back in. I told her she has to stay there at least today. I guess I could put a blanket over her cat house/gym/rec room and let her out. there's not a lot she could jump on (ha ha). Most of the time she seems happy on the floor watching tv. Her incision looks great, but it is swollen under the stitches. What do you think. Should I keep her in the crate for a bit more? and if so. how long?
