I think Poppy has another URI.

When I adopted him on Jan. 30th he had a URI. The vet gave me antibotics and the yellow goo from his eyes went away but he never stopped sneezing. A few weeks ago his left eye started watering again but it was clear. Now both eyes are watering and there is some yellow but not as much as before.

I'm changing vets. I've had a bad feeling about this animal hospital that I adopted him from. I'm going back to Kitty's Doctor, where I had taken Monti and where they only care for cats.

I don't think the animal hospital tested him for FVR. At least it doesn't say it anywhere on the paperwork. It does say negative for FELV/FIV. Also, I've been very bothered by the fact that they want to wait weeks before testing him for anything. Not just for his constant sneezing but for his loose stools too. So, I made an appointment for this Thursday 6pm at Kitty's Doctor.

I want Poppy to be 100% healthy! AND if he's not, I want to know what it is and how I can care for of him.

It sounds like it never completely left.... Perhaps he was not on the antibiotics long enough, or on the wrong one. Or he is a chronic carrier....

Good luck at your vet visit

I agree with the previous poster. Sounds like he truly never got over the infection. With the changing weather here, both of my kitties have been sneezing off & on and have had some weepy eyes, but it's clear and not persistent. Good for you for seeking a second opinion.

No, but I've read about it. I want to go to this other vet, get him tested and then go from there.
I'll mention it to the vet.
