Hello all! I'm bringing home my new kitten tomorrow. It's the first cat I've had since I was 6 and it's going to be the first one that is completely my responsibility. I went shopping today and got a litter box, Scoop Away litter, scooper, bowls, a brush, wet and dry foods, cat treats, and a collar. I've spent the past few days kitten-proofing my room. Took down the blinds, tied eletric cords out of the way, etc... I've got a nice covered cat house and lots of fun cardboard boxes and toys to play with. Can anyone think of anything else I should run out and get? Is there a new kitty checklist somewhere on the web that can help me be as prepared as possible? Have any good advice for a novice cat owner?
Thanks!
-Kai

Sounds like you have everything. I think you'll find that you won't need some of that stuff. Depends on the cat, though.

I'm soooo excited for you! It's so much fun to have a new baby.

I can suggest an excellent book! Complete Kitten Care by Amy Shojai- highly recommended. Sounds like your kitten is all set with all the goodies you got for it. Best of luck with your new little one!

Here's a link to lead you to the book:Amy's page

Thanks guys. I'm so anxious I can't sleep. This is what husband's must feel when they're pacing the hall outside a delivery room!
