One of my cats has been sneezing since Tuesday. Does anybody know what could be wrong with him? He looks like he's not feeling to good tonight and I wonder if I should take him to the emergency vet. I have an appointment for him on Saturday.
My best guess is that he has an upper respiratory infection. He's going to need some antibiotics from the vet in order to get well if that is the case. Is he eating and drinking normally and using the litterbox? And what do you mean by it looks like he's not feeling too good? If he has other issues besides sneezing, it might be something more serious than a URI, depending on what's going on. (Not that URI's are to be taken lightly.) Hopefully, someone with a bit more knowledge will see this.
I'd say go with your gut feeling. If you don't think he's doing too well, and think an ER trip is in order, I'd go with that. It's better to be safe than sorry.
I think Baxter does have a upper respiratory infection. I have a appointment for him tomorrow with my vet. He's been sneezing a lot and last night he looked kinda spacey and he had me worried. Execpt for the sneezing he seems to be allright now. He had a URI two months ago and that's been cleared up. I'm treating his mother for one now. I should buy stock in Clavamox.
I think URIs are contagious, so it makes sense to me if his mom has one, that he could catch it again. Hope your vet trip goes well tomorrow. Let us know how it turns out. What's your little guy's name? Hope he's feeling better soon.
