I am so biased in this, but I say kitten!! I am getting my male sphynx this weekend and he'll be 10 weeks, the same as my girls were when hubby picked them up.

I like getting kittens as I just found through personal experience that they adjust to my lifestyle quicker. Now, having said that, I don't know if all adults (retired or not) are going to exhibit the qualities that you like. Habits are quick to form and getting an adult might be harder to teach what not to do in your home.

That is true.
I am getting a show quality this time.
Where is your male coming from?
My Cleo fits in perfect with the other cats.

He is coming from Eastern Canada. My girls are from Texas. My girls fit so well with my other cats as well, and there was no "adjustment time" for them. Bonnie was a little miffed, but not any longer. They sleep together on my body pillow during the day, and the girls sleep with me at night. Oreo, the tuxedo devon kitten we kept also sleeps with them. I just love the passion they show to each other. Today, my male siamese gave Maddie a bath in the windowsill LOL it was just so sweet.

I have a few ideas.
I love the chocolates and blues.
I also love the pointed sphynx and the seal minks.
I will get to see a lot of them at the cat shows now.
My Mentors advised me to go by health not the colors.
Skewch you need to post pics of the new boy when you get him.

Jacky, oh you can bet I will be showing him off! He is a cutie pie! He is cream with a slight bit of grey on his head...looks like it's hair with a part down the middle. He is one of the colors I wanted to get to breed with my girls for nice variety in the litters. My girls are blue tortie and blue/white. They are just gorgeous. I can't wait until my girls are a year old (november) to get them their tests for HCM, FelV, FIV and then on to breeding them. I am going to be in heaven!

I am going to a cat show in 2 weeks just as a spectator first to get a feel for the environment and then in July is the next show where we'll probably show all 3 sphynx. I want to see how well they do in competition and hope to get a title or two out of it.

She hissed at my dad when he came over the other dad and would not stop.

I think I mentioned this on the sphynx email group about how my Dad had my sphynx all over him while we were in Mexico. I think they liked him LOL.

I think you did.
Diana Nelson and Jennifer Vallandigham from the breeders group are helping me.
Jennifer has one of Eds cats also.
Carlee is helping me also but she is from Switzerland.
Carlee and Diana are in both groups.
Dianas friends will be helping me show Cleo.
One lives about 1.5 hours south of me.
They are showing Cornish Rexes.
I do not bother Cleos breeder very much because i figure he is busy.
I need to catch up in the groups.
They blow up my yahoo mail box lol.

Most breeders I know want to be bothered, they love knowing how their babies are doing, if you have any concerns or questions.

We will be showing Zee, he is show quality according to his breeder. He was originally intended for a breeder in South Africa. That didnt work out..i am glad for that
I got his CFA registration number yesterday!!! Im so excited.

Good luck Jacky with getting another kitten/cat. I am already planning on my next one.

Ed is in the groups I post about Cleo.
Anita, Did you get the girl yet?
I still need Cleos Cfa number.
They cashed the check last week.
I have her Tica number but there are no tica shows here right now.
I wish they would have more here.
As soon as we get Cleos reg number I will enter her in the show.

You can either enter with "pending" for the number and give it to the master clerk at the show or call CFA and they will give you the number over the phone. I would NOT put off entering just waiting on a number.

Since she's a kitten, she can have "pending".

My pretty girl Melange is home
She is settling and enjoying being a beloved pet here with us.

I faxed Zee's paperwork, maybe thats why it took less than a week to get his number.

I would love to see more pics of her.
I bet the fax is way faster.
I should buy a fax machine.
Looks like Cfa will get a call on friday.
The check was cashed and they said they would email the number to me but i have not received it.

I would think if you are serious about showing you should get an older kitten/young adult cat, that way you have a better idea of their ultimate structure and all of that after the kitten grows out.
But then again going with a kitten from a good and trusted breeder that is graded as show quality is a good choice too

You can't go wrong adding another Sphynx

How neat! I am excited for you!
