They could be fobbing you off just because of that. Take about the part about your last cat being 6 weeks old, or put in a little explanation about why you got her at 6 weeks old and see if your luck changes.

BTW - I grew up with a gorgeous ebony Oriental named Coco, this is her at 16

Hmmm. Maybe, but I do know that I won't get kittens till 12 wks or older. But I did infact send that email to 12 breeders from breedlist.com so I'll just have to wait and see what the rest say. If I have bad luck with the others then I'll look at the list for Siamese breeders and I'll write what I wanna send here for y'all to evaluate first!

BTW, Coco is gorgeous!

Good luck! And thanks, Coco was an amazing cat. She came from show pedigree but didn't meet the grade for my mum's friends breeding/showing purposes, and they knew mum was after a Siamese, so they gave her to my mum knowing she'd get a great home. The siamese yowl was annoying but so adorable at the same time

My Coco is half siamese and she is loud.
I would have wrote a few breeders at a time to start with then write a few others if you do not like the answers.

Some breeders may be a little leery of your having a 5 year old. I am not saying it is true of you but many people do not supervise a child with a kitten and take the time to show the child how to handle and play with a kitten. If you don't have your heart set on a kitten many breeders have young adults that are retired breeders or pet returns that may be used to children. A breeder may be more comfortable with that situation than with a kitten.

One said late spring/early summer and I asked a couple of other questions and I will wait for a response before I reply to the other one. Here's a question: should I get on the waiting list for a couple of breeders just incase both my colors are unavailable so that I can get 1 from 1 breeder and 1 from another? She did say she expects both colors but of course, there's no guarantee. I did google them but I'll PM you.

I would pick two breeders to be on their waiting list. Are you dead set on females? Or would you accept a male in the color you want?

That one breeder that answered you lives in the same city as me.
Does she have kittens now?
I saw it says litter coming in Feb on her site.
You can ask breeders what colors they expect.
I did that before Cleo.
I only wanted a girl also.
The other one lives in New Jersey.

I know with my Oci's we did not want females. I've never had luck showing female cats very long; so we only wanted neutered males. Just wondering.

Just be careful and PM that info!

I also think it's dangerous to go by hearsay or what somebody knows about a person. I say read the website, phone the breeders (don't email) and then if you can meet them, either at a show or their place.

For example Person A might like Person B because Person B's cats always win and then they spread bad WOM.

Just be careful, cautious and trust your gut!

I am asking a lot of people.
To bad most are sphynx breeders.
I do not want her to have a problem like my sister is having right now.

Is that with the "Devon Rex" breeder?

I agree, the cat world is catty you can't fully trust what one person says about another.
I do think emailing is fine though, most breeders I know get initial contact from email.
