My cat, Ernestine, who I'm adopting from a friend, is coming home with me on Saturday. I am very excited. Angus passed away in December and I miss him so much, but there's a picture of him above my bed, and one on my bookshelf of him falling asleep on my back.
I went to visit Ernestine a few weeks ago, and she sat on my chest. It was the first time a cat behaved in a way similar to Angus, which made me cry. She slowly reached out her paw, touched my nose and scooted a little closer to my heart. Then she rested her head on me and fell asleep. It's a wonderful weekend to adopt a cat b/c I just met a major deadline at work and my grad school module ends on Saturday, so I can enjoy my first days with my new friend in peace.
