I'm looking for a dry hairball food. Something available at petsmart/petco would be preferable but I can order online if necessary.

Royal Canin hairball - they loved it, but it was way too expensive, especially considering the quality

Avoderm - price was agreeable, readily available, but they don't like it

The hairball food is served mixed with 2 other drys (California Natural and Taste of the Wild) so it doesn't have to be the best quality since they get so little of it, but I would like to avoid total garbage food. Any suggestions?

ETA: I've seen a huge relief in hairballs in the months they've been eating these, even using a 1/3 mix so I don't want to just drop it out completely.

I think Nutro Natural Choice / Nutro MAX has a hairball formula. Not sure on the pricing, I think Natural Choice is now $45 for their larger bag here.
That's the only decent hairball I can think of seeing in Petco. Does Petsmart's Authority brand make a hairball formula?

i feed Authority [petsmart house brand] to my ferals. Cable always wants some when i'm getting it ready [indoor cats get RC special 33 - helps Pixel] so it must be pretty tasty. they make a hairball formula.

Thanks, I will check Nutro Max and Authority this weekend and see which ingredients look better. They keep picking out all the Avoderm pieces and dropping them on the floor
