I dreaded this day, and it came way too soon. Alix (real name full of show titles and the letters indicating she was a regional winner in TICA) was special from the day she could express her personality. Mouthy, sassy, affectionate, loving. She was sooooo into her grandpa Patrick, and her last 'special' cat, was Frankie...from whom she simply refused to accept rejection. She tried again and again for months, to gain Frankie's trust and affection..to the point that dh fondly remembers seeing them sleep, legs outstretched, paws just touching...waking up to have a half hearted slap fight with each other. They were soooooooo silly.

Alix passed away on Saturday...and took another piece of my heart with her.

She was the reason I went into business...first inspiring (on another cat forum) the creation of a cookbook (even has her own cartoon character designed after her), a first business that I owned in partnership, and my current business, begun almost 7 years ago, and named after her.

If not for spending as much time on that forum as I did, with alix as a main reason I was there, I'd never have met my husband.

She (as did Bookie from who she is descended) changed my life.

In fact, part of my biz name - Plain Brown Tabby - was a tongue in cheek joke..NOTHING was plain about Miss Alix. She was quite simply, gorgeous...a "summer' tabby as my husband liked to describe her rich warm red/gold color of some of her fur (where as her sister, Ophelia is an "artic" tabby - a severe, cold brown tabby - equally gorgeous in her own way).

It will be so very strange to live life without her - I can only hold to my belief that I will see her again, remember that she knew just how much we loved her, and that she is with the precious ones we've lost before her...Larissa most recently.

I have been so very blessed to have had her.

Pat, you've had more than your share of unhappiness and loss recently.
This did happen too soon. I am so, so, so sorry. I also believe she will be there, waiting for you - and I also believe she's sending you all the comfort and love she can.

RIP sweet Alix.

My sincere condolenses on your sad loss.

It's *so* hard when we lose them, but I think you summed up your lives together beautifully.

Play happily over rainbow bridge, Alix.

I have nothing to add, except to say what a lovely tribute you have given her.
