I am thinking of switching dry food

I currently feed both my girls Brandon Farms Organic No corn, No wheat, No soy cat food. The only place around here that I can find it is Kroger's. The problem with this is that Kroger's doesn't rotate their stock and they have bags of the cat food on the shelf when it is clearly damaged or past the date.

I saw at the local Wal-Mart that Newman's Own cat food is being offered. I looked at the back of the bag and the ingredients seemed pretty respectable actually. Is this a good food?

IMHO too grainy but similar to what you are currently feeding so it might work... Just a warning Wal mart seems to discontinue this food and bring it back regularly ... another to check would be natural life ( not sure if it is wheat and corn free

Well there is not a lot of premium quality dry food locally. I have chosen Brandon Farms because it is easily available, but since Kroger isn't keeping up on rotating it, I would like to switch and Newman's is the best alternative that i have found. The girls also split a cup of Meow Mix wet food once a day - should I switch to an all wet diet?

If you can afford it .. IMHO I would give all wet ... MM may be very $$$ as I think it is two pouches per 4.5 lbs ( so a 9 lb cat would eat four pouches a day

I would also suggest talking to the customer service people at Kroger. If they know people are paying attention, they may be better about monitoring their stock. You might also be able to ask them to order fresher stuff on a regular basis.
