Hubby just found a $785 Escrow check...

...in an envelope we never opened. We had an overage in escrow and they gave us the balance.

That is what he's doing! He is hilarious, it looks like a bomb went off in the office and he is sitting in the middle of the blast, surrounded by papers.

Congrats!! !! What a nice surprise! I remember when I was handling mom's estate, I just got overwhelmed and stopped opening things...a few months later, I found a check for almost $1200 from investments that couldn't be transferred and I was the only beneficiary. I didn't even realize it! Yeah, we did the happy dance that day!

Check the date on the cheque. After a certain length of time cheques are no longer good. If it's only a couple months it should be fine though.

That's wonderful! I had a similar experience a couple of months ago. I went through old envelopes in my desk drawer and found a check for $120 from an old car loan that had apparently overcharged us on the payoff when we traded it in. It was over a year old! And yes, the check was still good, thank goodness!
