I've gone back a couple of times but just felt bored/over-worked. At the time I was working in publishing, which is an extremely fast-paced and demanding work environment that requires LOTS of overtime. I think that is why it was so hard. Now I'm in a job that is challenging but pretty much sticks to the 8 to 5 routine.

SO I called admissions and found out that I have already taken FOUR classes towards my MBA! For some reason I thought I had only taken two. Wahoo!!!

AND I don't have to take the GMAT again, despite the fact that it's been 5 years since my last class.

Thank GOD!

Is the GMAT geared towards business degrees? I had to take the GRE (twice
) to get into grad school for an engineering degree.

In any case, good luck with the MBA. I'm sure it will be hard work, but hopefully it will be rewarding.

Yep. IMO, it was easier than the GRE, but still a grueling test nonetheless. By far the worst entrance exam has to be the MCAT. I have experienced no test quite like this before.

To the OP, what are you concentrating on for your MBA?

I ask b/c I recently took the GMATs and just applied to B-school for the Fall. I'm planning to do two programs at once, finishing up my last year in my MSc and starting up the MBA.

Best of luck.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
that you've already completed four courses towards it and don't have to take the GMAT again!
I bypassed the MBA by opting instead for a C.F.A. (Chartered Financial Analyst). Just three grueling exams once a year and done.

Good luck!

I'm already having "missed the final" nightmares and I haven't even registered for my first class!

Apparently one of my credits expired because it's been so long. But apparently, one of my old (and very beloved) professors is now the director of the MBA program and she called to tell me she's going to let me keep the credit, because she knows I'm such a great student. How awesome is that! That will save me money AND time.

I'm very excited to be going back. The only hiccup is that I've scheduled my beach vacation for the week of finals (ugh). But since I'm only taking one class this summer, I can just drive back for the final and go back to the beach. (6-hour round trip). It'll be worth it.

LOL. My nightmare is always one where I registered for some class, usually something like English or Literature
and then forgot about it. Then it's about November, just before term ends, and I realize I have a 0 average in the class because I never went.

Depending on what the class is, you may not have to do anything. Most of the graduate classes I have taken had a take home final that just had to be turned in by a certain date. The professors prefer it that way because it means they don't have to come in for 2 hours and watch everyone take the test or spend a lot of time making sure it can be finished in the 2 hours allotted. If your MBA classes are like that, you could just turn in your take home final early and enjoy yourself at the beach while all of your classmates rush to finish it at the last minute.

I've considered going back for an MA. But since I have a BA + now, and I drive a truck, I figure that would just let be be underemployed at a higher level of expertise.
