I never give the cats food from my plate. Ever. so they don't beg. but they crave ice cream for some reason.

I sit at my pc and eat those drumsticks from time to time. But i'm weird about how i eat them. i eat the chocolate topping, then dump the ice cream into a bowl, then eat the cone, THEN eat the ice cream after it melts some.

Tinker has figured out she can sneak some. she lays right next to me on the Dish Network box because it's warm. But when she sees me eating the cone. She will really slowly scoot around, and knowing i'd catch her if she tried to eat it, she will really slowly extend her paw, and touch the ice cream, then pull her paw back and lick the ice cream off.

Of course I don't let her get away with it. mainly because I'd rather not eat kitty litter in my ice cream. but it's so dang cute when she does it.

haha! Cute!!!

My Abby does something similar. I have a habit of taking something with me to eat in bed while I read. When I do, Abby gets up on the bed and lays down beside me and purrs. She doesn't think I notice, but she slowly inches her way up towards the dish until she's close enough to stick her face in it!
I've long gotten over the "kitty spit" idea. So I let her have a few licks if she wants. She's not really a people food eater, but she seems to want to taste it. It's rare that she will actually eat any of it, just a lick or two and she's happy.

Mine do not beg and I do give them food from my plate once in a while. When it comes to ice cream, only Joji goes a bit crazy if it's vanilla flavor.

My current lot don't beg but when I was a little girl they always used to beg. I think because I encouraged them.
I like sharing with kitties though!

Ain't that the truth! But I do have to agree with JT about the kitty-litter-paws in my food. YUK!

That is so adorable! And I can picture it in my mind, because Ginger does the same thing with the slow paw toward the food. It's like she thinks if she goes slow enough I won't notice the paw coming at my food.

lol yeah I wouldn't mind the spit. but just knowing they walk around sometimes for hours after covering their poop with litter and uhhh mud... in their claws pretty much turns me off

I need to get it on video but I doubt she'd let me

Cassie never begged for any food, except once - for tiramisu! I swear that cat has expensive tastes. She plonked herself in front of me and begged shamelessly for a taste of the stuff. I relented and let her lick a little from my finger.. Oops! She never had anymore of it after that.

Wukong had a penchant for drinking out of any cup that's lying on the floor. I don't have much furniture so everyone sits on the floor while watching TV. If there's a cup unattended, you didn't have to wait long before you could see him stick his entire head inside.

None of them used their paws for food though.. WK would just sit on the dining table. Even if I chased him off he'd be back in a split second. Each time I wasn't looking at the table, he's inch forward a little. If I turned to look, he would turn his head away and pretend to be looking at something else!
My lil brat-boy...
