I got a dental kit today the came with a brush, a fingertip brush and some malt-flavored toothpaste. As recommended, I tried letting him taste it first. He hates the flavor- has no interest in it. And it's not a texture thing- he has chicken-flavored hairball stuff, that's basically the same texture, and he loves it.

Do they make toothpaste for cats that isn't malt-flavored? It seems to be all I can find online.

ETA: Okay, I take it back! I found this:

Except, it only really says that it helps bad breath- do I assume it cleans their teeth, too?

The link you provided does say it's a toothpaste for brushing their teeth so yes I would imagine it cleans their teeth.

I use the C.E.T. Poultry flavor on my girls. They all love it! I have to keep it in the drawer, because Maggie will chew the tube if I leave it on the table. Of course, Maggie chews EVERYTHING, so why should the toothpaste tube be any different!
