We had no one come in visitors over yesterday.I make double sure the door is closed behind any of us that come in or out the door. My husband saw her and Ping sleeping on the couch yesterday afternoon. Last night I when I went to feed them supper only Ping came running. Well that was strange usually they both come running. I looked all over the house as did hubby but did not see her. Well I figured I was not gonna panic because last time she did this she was just hiding real well. Got up this morning and still no Pong to be seen. I opened all house doors (like the kids rooms) in case she got closed behind a door when we went to bed. Well she did not come running out of one. Went and walked around the property and no Pong. Now I am starting to Panic because I have no idea where she is. This is very much unlike her. But the thing is the door was not standing open at anytime yesterday and she has never just ran when any door was open, nor has she ever tried to squeeze out when we open and go out the door. Any suggestions because I am really trying not to freak right now.

My hope is dwiddling that she is just hiding in the house somewhere. I keep opening and checking all the rooms and nothing. I keep going outside and walking the property and nothing. I have a scoop of litter dumped beside each door and nothing. I can not for the life of me figure out if she got out how. We never ever leave doors open.

I have such little open of finding her. She has always been a flighty cat. Stressed out real easy and ran and hid over the smallest things. She always seemed to have a longing for the outdoors. Always she was sitting at windows looking out.

Ping keeps looking around for her. He never touched his breakfast and everytime I sit down he runs for my lap. And the kids how can I tell them.

Life is not fair sometimes.

Oh man! I hope she does come back...
Around dinner time put some tuna cans outside. Also, get the car and go around the neighborhood. Put up flyers ASAP, and call/visit the shelters. Did she have a collar? Is she microshiped? Put an ad on Craigslist, and offer a reward for the return of the kitty. The quicker you do this, the better your chances to find her...
Good luck!

Its been 24 hours since anyone has seen her. My husband has a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach that she got into something (what I have no idea) and has passed. In looking back for the past 1-2 weeks she has not been eating a lot like normal. There was no point at all yesterday that the door was open long enough for her to sneak out and no one notice that it happened. I have been out looking and talking with people (no a lot of people in the area) and no one has seen her.

I worry because she never really seemed at ease in the house. She always had that longing I think to be back outside (even tho we got her at a young age). Right now I just don't know what to think.

I know you've been looking everywhere, but have you checked tight dark places like under the towels in the linen closet or behind the washing machine? My kitties love jumping into drawers, crawling to the very back and digging under the clothes so I can't see them. One of my kittens got through the hole in the wall where the plumbing comes in behind the washing machine. Fortunately it was open on the other side to a utility closet so she wasn't stuck inside the wall. It took me hours to find her, though.

Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. Come out Pong. That she's okay.

Any news?

Get some tuna in water and heat it up really hot (so the smell is strong) and sit outside with it-and inside too. If she comes-do not let her have the hot tuna-have some room temp tuna in a dish for her. Does she like cat nip? Maybe get a big bag of it and pour it near your outside doors.

Come home safe Pong!!!!!!!

Also, look around the house to see if anything might have fallen.

But if I were a betting man, I'd put money on her having gotten out.

I wonder if she went into a very small space to hide and then became trapped? You said Ping is looking for her, so watch him to see if he keeps returning to certain areas of the house. Maybe he'll lead you to her.

A related note:
Both of my cats, Snowball and Midnight are at the Rainbow Bridge now. But years ago, whenever Midnight was accidently shut inside a closet for a short time, Snowball would aways sit right in front of the door. And then we would aways to able to find Midnight before too much time had gone by.

That was the way I found Shareena when she went through the wall behind the washing machine. Miss Patchwillow kept sitting at the door to the utility closet and I kept insisting that door hadn't been opened. Shareena was definitely miffed when I finally gave in and checked in the closet.

I third the suggestion of keeping an eye on Ping. My boys will invariably seek out each other if they haven't seen the other for a length of time.

Set out treats around the house. Remember to breathe. Come on, Pong! Show your beautful face!

So far no trace of her. No one around here has seen her either (or so they say). Hubby setup a video camara to record movement on the front porch. I left some food on the porch but only a stray came and ate it. I left a can of tune and (shirt I wore yesterday) on the back porch. Something came and at the tune but we have no idea what.

Ping has been sticking close to my side and not looking anywhere. A couple of times he sat and sniffed at the backdoor but when I opened it nothing was there. Ping is also not eating well since she has not been found. He will barely touch his wet food and gets small nibbles of the dry food. I think he is depressed and worried to. I am trying to stay optimistic and beleive that in a day or 2 she will show up outside (dirty and hungry) safe and sound.

I'm so upset. I was hoping I would come here and see that Pong was found. Sending find Pong vibes from our house to yours.

Right now I think I am in a big state of denial over the whole thing. I have not had the big emotional break down yet. I guess its because I have the big hope that within a few days she will be out there waiting for one of us to open the door. I really do not want to put myself in that worst case sceniro mood. I know she will be back we just have to wait for that time and keep asking neighbors.

You don't happen to have a cat trap do you?
If you do, try that, if not-can you borrow one from someone?
You would probably trap the stray first, but keep trying!

Don't give up, cats never do!
