Hi guys, I'm back again - Page 2

No kidding. I wonder who's will be first. Yours sound like she's almost there! Isn't it so exciting! Yeah, the pumpkin pie thing will be interesting. I was happy because I was looking on-line to see what kind of natural remedies they have for worms, and I couldn't find anything. So, I was so happy to know I didn't have to give her any medication since she didn't have worms. Coral's poop is like that too. Very loose and usually a big mound. She goes 2-3 times per day and looks very uncomfortable when she goes.

It looks like we're in the same boat!

Ali is going wayyyy more than 3 times a day... and each time, it's loose and quite a bit. I'm also wondering if she has a kitten that is putting pressure on the rectum, as today while petting her.. she pooped a little on the floor. With no exertion from her, it just came out! She looks so uncomfortable, and she's been spending a great deal of time cleaning herself today... NOT her butt or anything down there, as she can't reach it! Poor thing.

Poor kitty. I hope she has those kittens soon so that you will know if that's the cause of it.

My vet was saying, because we have been keeping Coral in, that she's not getting enough fiber. Her stools aren't hard, but I think it's that she's straining. My vet said to feed her pumpkin pie mix, the sweetened one. Maybe it's worth a try with your little one. It's one of those things that couldn't hurt at least. 1 tsp twice a day. Let me know if you try it and how it works. We're going to start with Coral today.
If you do a search you can find several threads that recommend pumpkin for diarrhea or constipation. However, the pumpkin should actually be just the plain kind, NOT the pumpkin pie mix. I don't know why the vet said to get the sweetened kind. As far as I know anything that is sweetened would also have other spices in it, which are not good for cats.

Coral had her kittens, actually, she's having them right now. I was going to tell you that yesterday I noticed she was really lazy. She still played a bit, but she layed around a lot. I have the feeling that last night would be the night because of her being so lazy yesterday evening. She did stop eating too!

Any kitten news on your front?

Nope. I was certain it was going to be yesterday, as she showed some signs all day! And... nothing. She's laying behind me as I type.. just lookin around. UGH. This waiting is HORRIBLE. How many has she had? What's going ON?! Excited for you!!!

She had 5 of them. She was just really lazy yesterday, but was still eating a bit. Then last night I got up at 2:30am and she usually follows me into the bathroom and eats. Last night she didn't. I laid back in bed and she went into the closet and started scratching at the carpet. 2 hours later I got woken up by little kitten meows and opened the closet to find the first kitten hanging out of her! It took 4 hours between the 4th and 5th kitten, so don't freak out, like I did, if that happens to yours. Try to keep it quiet too while she's birthing. My son came in a disturbed the whole process, thus the 4 hours between kittens. It's an amazing experience. They really do it all on their own. I didn't have to do a thing except pet her head inbetween contractions and watch.

Best of luck to you. I have a feeling it will be tonight or tomorrow night for you. We'll see. Watch for extreme laziness.

It's 6:15 am and we've been awake all night with Ali birthing. So far she's had 3. We do know there is another in there... and we are just waiting it out. The last one was born at 4:09 am... so I know there's still time. Ali is doing great, and she's soooo tired, and sleeping like a log, while the 3 nurse. First one born was black. 2nd is an orange actually looks like an orange and white tabby maybe? 3rd is a brown tabby like mommy. So I guess I'll report back with pics when the birthing is final.

Yay Ali! Yeah, give her a little time. Make sure you let the kittens nurse because it can stimulate contractions. Congratulations and keep us informed on that last one.

Well, she's been nursing and purring and loving being a mommy.... and there is still a kitten in her. I know for sure, since I can see it moving around alot. It seems to be up a little high.. and not really coming down too quickly. The last kit was born 6 hours ago. She is not in any pain, and not contracting. She's been nursing this whole time.. and finally about a half hour ago got up and ate and drank some water and used the litter box for the first time since birth began.

Hmm...if it doesn't come in an hour or two try calling your vet to get a suggestion on what to do.
How many has she had so far?
Congrats!

Calling the vet is always a good idea, but mine said that if she's not contracting, then it's okay. They said that if she's straining and looks to be in pain, then it's an emergency. The best thing to do it just leave her alone with the lights off and see what happens. I kept hearing 24 hours, and then worry. That will put you at about the time the vet opens tomorrow. I'll bet she'll have it on her own though. She probably got distracted or needed a break. Maybe she's even had it by now. Keep us updated.

She has not had the other. Not yet anyway. She is really pooped out. The first baby out really did a number on her. I had not ever heard a cat cry like she did, that poor thing. Then #2 and #3 popped out without hardly any pushes.... and then she laid down and it all stopped.

My friend's cat had a kitten... and then nothing... she then took the cat to the vet, and the vet said that if she's not contracting, and she's not straining... let her be. And yes.. then that following night, her cat had 2 more kittens!

So, I'm planning on calling the vet in the morning if there is no progress. She really looks happy... she's purring... lickin babies ALOT and sleeping ALOT. She did great, now if we can just get the other(s) out, all will be well!
Good job, Ali! Keep those babies coming!

What colors are they? Pictures please.
Your plan sounds great. Yeah, it's good you have heard of that happening because when Coral did that I really freaked out. They vets all want to make money, so they wanted us to rush in...EMERGENCY, was the word they all used, except for our trusted vet. It's always good to know of a good vet that is more into the animals than the money!

Best of luck and please let us know when the last one comes. I can't wait for news!

Our foster cat Boots had four, then stopped then had four more, like ten hours later! It was funny, because some were born on Saturday, some on Sunday!

Little update...... I'm beat, been up just about 48 hours now, and I'm heading to bed. She started labor again last night! She gave birth to two more, and then tuckered out. I am not certain, but I still think there may be one more. The two she had last night look like they may very well end up being pointed siamese mix... as they are all white, with tan shaded areas of the back... one looks like it may actually have stripes like tabby mommy....

Total as of this morning... 5 kittens.
Black, orange, tabby, and 2 white/siamese They are ALL adorable. I'll update with pictures once this whole ordeal is over with, and I'm not so sleep deprived. Probably this evening! Hope everyone is well.

Awww...congrats! You must be tired!
Have a good sleep!
Yay Ali!

Wow, what a tiring process for the two of you. I hope you got some rest, as did she, and the she' ready to be done and get that last one out! Good luck.
