I spend every waking hour when I am home making sure my closet is closed, and Trout is not in there. My wedding dress is in there so I don't want her in there messing around...

Anyway..I literally check in there everytime I have it open, making sure she didn't sneak in because for some reason she loves it in there.

Yesterday I get home, I get in the door..wondering why Trout is not greeting me. I walk into the bedroom...and I hear "mew?" "meoooow?" Very lightly...

Where is she? Stuck in the closet
I have no idea when she got in there..but she was in there from 7:30am to about 8pm when I got home...more than 12 hours. When I opened it, she just pranced out all happy and meowing "thanks for letting me out mom, I'll be good now"

Whats crazy is, she didn't pee or poo in there...and when she came out she didn't go straight to the litter box either..she stopped to cuddle us a bit THEN went to the box.

She seems to be okay though...I can't believe she was in there that long!

Oh, my!!!

Good girl, though, for not peeing or pooping.

I wonder what she did all day in there.

She probably wondered what she'd done for you to lock her away all day!

This happened to my cat once. My now-DH had come to visit while I was at work and didn't know that Callie hung out in the bedroom closet during the day. He had run the vacuum cleaner while I was at work and closed the closet door. I got home I don't know how many hours later and couldn't understand why Callie wasn't perched on the arm of the couch waiting for me. I immediately went into the bedroom and found the closet door closed. I opened it and there she was snuggled up in the far corner sound asleep!! I then told my fiance that the closet door was NEVER to be completely closed EVER! It only took me telling him ONCE and he's never made that mistake again!

Trout is soo good not to do any pees or poos in there. Do you think she was frightened?
Villy and Roxy are always going in the wardrobe, what is it about it that they like

Trout! You naughty girl!

Though it sounds like she wasn't TOO naughty... perhaps the closet of forbidden delights will seem more forbidding and less delightful in future.

I did the exact same thing once, several years ago. In my morning rush I shut the coat closet....came home in the evening and immediately heard the faint behind-the-door "meow." I felt so bad! In my current apartment I keep the closet doors ajar at all times (of course you can't do this because of the wedding dress
). Anyway, it happens to the best of us!

So glad she is OK. Persi is always getting locked in the closet or else out on the balcony. He spent a whole night on the balcony at near freezing weather. I know before I closed the door I called for him but he just ignored me (and suffered the consequences).

My boy loves to jump into any closet, so one day when I was taking sheets from the linen closet, I was especially careful. He was two rooms away, sound asleep, and I opened the closer for just a couple of seconds. There was no sign of him.

As I was changing the sheets on my bed, I heard a lout thumping and thought he was playing somewhere. But as it continued, I realized that the sound was coming from the closet. Yes, he was in there, but don't ask me how; cats can be magicians.

When I've had sitters, I caution them to leave EVERY indoor door cracked open a little--never tightly closed--to insure that he doesn't get closed in accidentally.

Poor kitty! I have had this happen as well.............Maia was once closed out of the room her litter was in all day! She waited all day till I realized when I got home! Sweety, back in the day, had been locked in a closet all day, didn't make any messy........ My beloved Pandi had been closed out of her litter area for almost an entire day, no mess any where!

Some times the poo/pee doesn't smell until it gets old. I found a little present under my bed the other day from when the kittens lived in my room.

I'm glad Trout is OK. Well My Mum shut Fluffy in a kitchen cupboard for an hour. It's hardly big enough to put your hand in but Fluff just curled up and went to sleep.

It was an experience like this that cured Zane of sleeping in the bathroom sink.
