He had a blood clot travel to his brain and he has lost some of his vision and fine motor skills from it.I will keep your SO in my thoughts and prayers!

Sending lots of vibes down your way.
My youngest SIL had a major stroke and several brain surgeries a couple of years ago and its just alot to deal with. You need to take care of yourself too.

I'm just glad he was at home when it happened, b/c I don't think he'd be here otherwise. As it was, when it happened, he was trying to tell me that he'd be all right if he just laid down for awhile. I told him there was no way I was gonna ignore what was going on, b/c I knew enough to know that time is of the essence when someone is having a stroke and went ahead and called 911 in spite of his objections. Thank the Lord that I knew what was going on.

That's my son & granddaughter in my avatar.

Randall (my s/o) is still in the hospital. They're still running tests. I feel so badly for him, b/c he's getting worn out from all the testing, and he hasn't gotten much rest and they won't let him eat b/c it interferes with some of the tests. He was in pretty good spirits yesterday, but I think he's reached his limits. I wish there was more that I could do for him: I feel so useless right about now.

Thanks again everyone for your concern and well wishes. It is greatly appreciated.

I really appreciate the offer & your concern, Mike, but we're quite a ways from Dallas - closer to Houston. Randall's in one of the hospitals in the Woodlands.

Thanks so much for offering, though.

When it rains, it pours, huh?

I bet he's getting grumpy from them bugging him all hours -are they coming in to take his vitals several times at night? and from no food. I hated that myself, the moment I'd get to relax a little someone would bug me.

More your way, you two sure can use them.

That's pretty much what it is. I know what he's going through having been there myself.
How're you supposed to recover when you can't get any rest?

Omg that's terrible! I hope he recovers quickly and has no lasting damage, and he is able to get some rest. Pesky nurses.
Sending you vibes!

I'm glad you were there and you thought so quickly to take him in. I get Sporadic Hemiplegic Migraines, which simulate a stroke, and the first time it happened was when I was about 7 months pregnant and the person that answered the late night call to my OB told me that it was a stroke and to go to the ER immediately, and I ignored her. Luckily it was NOT a stroke, but I didn't know what it was and I still ignored her. My doctor actually chastised me for calling him about it in the middle of the night. Can you believe that?? He didn't even ask to see me or anything, just told me to suck on a piece of candy. HUH??
