I dunno about everyone else, but whenever I have a glass of soda out I have to be extra careful to guard it from Jake!! He will ALWAYS start drinking dipping his paw in my glass and then licking it...It's even worse than if I am drinking milk, he wants the soda even more....Is it just Jake or does this happen often?

this is one of the reasons i use a cup w/a lid - one of the other reasons is so when one of them knocks it over [has happened more than once] i don't get much of a spill!

I can't tell you how many glasses of water Levi has drank from, BUT I can tell you that he has broken 8 BRAND NEW glasses!! Little bugger!

Now we use water bottles. Funny, only water, nothing else!!

I have to drink out of cans or bottles for the same reason. I got tired of cleaning up spilled drinks.

I had a dog that really liked beer. He'd wag his tail to knock it over then suck it out of the carpet.

Maybe it's the carbon dioxide? Sterling likes to stick his nose in the glass, even after it's empty, but he doesn't try to drink any.

My kitties don't care for pop or beer, but they do most definitely enjoy milk drinks. I just expect them to steal some when I have one, and I usually save a little for Pushy.

Trout only likes water with ice cubes in it..she likes to play with the ice cubes

When I was sick a couple weeks ago..I had a big glass of water with ice in it beside my bed. But since I was always passed out..everytime I woke up, Trout had her paws all in my water. I ended up getting a bottle of water instead

OMG That's so funny!! Jake hisses at hair mousse

I haven't resorted to lids and bottles, he doesn't really spill anything anymore. He just drinks out of the glass if the level is high enough, and if not he dips his paw and then licks it. But lids may be a good idea to prevent him from drinking something that's bad for him...
I think he does it because he wants to know what I'm doing 24/7, he is my keeper no joke...So if i'm drinking soda, he has to know what it is so he tries it...

My cat has not tried to drink my soda (yet), but did ate from my ice cream (which I had left on top of the kitchen table). Now every time he sees me eating yogurt or ice cream he starts meowing and asking me for some. Of course, I never give him any, but I find it amusing. I thought cats couldn't taste sweet.

That's funny, I would have always thought Coke to be the consumate anti-cat drink. My Rossi likes to literally bury his head in my coffee mug (after the coffee is gone); not sure if he's consumed by the smell, or what.

Despoil will try and drink from my glass only if he doesn't have his own glass of ice water and heaven forbid if I have a straw and he doesn't. lol

Mine don't like Coke, but Lola will try anything non-carbonated in my glass/mug. Her faves include my coffee and soy milk left unattended.
She's also splashed red Crystal Light all over (thankfully it was on the table). And she'll try to drink any glass of water despite having a giant fountain to play in.
