Ok, I've noticed this a few times, some threads just disappear. A few times, also I've gotten PM's from mods if the posts were started by me, that they were pulled for review, and then they showed up again the next day or so. But then some posts were not started by me, and have disappeared randomly without ever re appearing. What's the deal there? I'm just curious...Most of the time they are posts from the IMO section or posts where members get carried away in their arguments...but in other forums if that happens mods just close the post, i'd never seen one disappear....I actually remember of one thread, it was called "God and technology" by caleeko. It disappeared and then caleeko sent PM's to everyone who had posted in that thread saying she is leaving the forum for some odd reason and said her thread disappeared and it was time for her to leave.....I didn't really know what was going but that also made me curious.

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

I'm not a mod but I think if the thread is deemed inappropriate it is pulled. I think that just happened on the SOS subforum. We both posted on that thread.

Yea lol I dunno if you saw what she wrote before it disappeared, if you did then you'd know it was definitely inappropriate and certainly creates conflict which is now what the forum is about, we need not bash each other and I totally get that....But i'm curious what the rule is about that getting rid of posts like that...

Thanks. This says they delete the offensive posts though, even more specifically the actual offensive words, not the entire thread and I've seen that happen..I'm just curious because sometimes the threads are useful for others to continue, even if one person happened to get offensive, and in that case is the entire thread still deleted?

It also crossed my mind that the person who posted as the girlfriend was simply a troll trying to stir up trouble and not the guy's actual girlfriend. But there is no way to know. Well, I hope they get things worked out and that the cats end up in a better home.

It depends on the thread and how educational it is. At times the thread is beyond "saving" and has no educational value and will stay off the board and at times the problematic posts will be deleted and the thread returned. At other times the thread is closed and returned to the board.

And as always, if someone feels we've made a mistake (which can actually happen sometimes
), by all means, do drop me or one of the mods a PM. Do not bring it up in a thread, as these issues are not open for public debate, but feedback provided privately and politely is always welcome.

Just to add to the subject so you know how we do things here:
When a post gets reported we will generally remove the thread for review by the site team. Since the team is located all around the world, it takes a little while for all of us to weigh in on the thread/post in question. Then, like Karen said, it might be returned untouched, returned with a reminder from the mods, edited and returned, returned and closed, or just kept off the board.
Unless it's a troll or spam thread, we do try to notify the original poster that something is going on. Most times it doesn't have anything to do with their posts, but we let them know. Sometimes people get upset with any kind of moderator action, even if it's just reviewing a thread but most people understand why we're doing what we do.
