Hi,

My kitties have been on Iam's for too long now because I haven't been able to make it to the good pet store. Does anyone here know of a website that has great food at a great markdown to offset shipping charges?

I haven't seen any lately that office discounts enough to offset the shipping. You can try googling for discount codes, like this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ounts&aq=f&oq=

You might also try looking locally. PetSmart has a few brands that are pretty good, as well as Pet Supermarket if you have either nearby. We also have some smaller stores that carry good brands. Try looking in the yellow pages and calling around.

Another idea is check around on the web sites of the food you want to try, to see who carries it locally. You might even email them for a free sample, a lot of them are very willing to do that so you can see if your kitties will like it before buying it.

I order online through petfooddirect.com when they have 20-22% discounts offered, and then I buy the largest bags available (I buy Royal Canin for my crew.) The discount offsets the shipping costs, plus sometimes they have sales on certain brands as well, then the discount comes off the total sale price.

Of course, if you live on the west coast, you may not see the shipping amount be offset, as their shipping costs are lower to those on the east coast.

petfooddirect.com will send out 22% coupons ocassionaly if you're on their email listing... I just got a free shipping on the first 30lbs coupon, so ordered some food. It offsets shipping (the 22%) if you order like, $90 worth of food at once, which is usually what I do...order wet and dry, enough for about 4-6 months at a time.

I've used the other site...nationalpetpharmacy, they send out email coupons similar to those offered by pfd. I have my suspicions that they are the same company as pfd.

I have had very good customer service from pfd in the past (with wrong orders, damaged items, etc.) but every person's experiences can be different. They also take a long time to ship...like 5-6 days from when the order is placed, so don't order right when you need it.

I use westcoastpetsupply.com. Their prices are lower than some of the others, and the shipping works well for me because it is so close. I don't know what shipping to New York would cost.
