male kitten in some sort of heat???

My cat, Ortiz, is about 6 1/2 mths and he hasn't started spraying yet (thank God) but he is constantly meowing. I mean he reminds me of a female cat in heat. He's going in the end of March to get fixed but it's driving us crazy. Mostly my husband, because he keeps us up a lot of the night, wandering around a meowing. I'm thinking it might help to close our door so he can't get into our room. Which seems to be his favorite place to chat it up. I was just wondering if there is anything I can do between now and the end of March. I've also noticed he's gotten more aggressive towards me, yesterday he jumped up and bit me twice. And it hurt!! I carry around a spray bottle...and that works when I've got it on hand. Is there anything I can do? My husband is just getting really annoyed and I want to try and keep the peace. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Nothing you can really do except get him fixed, he's maturing and calling it out to all the females that might be around.

Any way you could get him fixed as soon as possible? If he's calling, he could start spraying any time. It's much easier to prevent spraying that to stop it once it starts.
