I was going to send you email, but I was unable to do so through the site! BUT...I think it is SOO cool you are TTC, as well
I sometimes hang out on another website where people that are PG hang out, but really, not all of them are TTC...so it is kind of nice to talk to someone that is in the same boat with you.

How long have you been trying? This is our first month, but waiting is agonizing. I have the baby fever in a BIG way and I want to buy baby things...but....it is like you are danged if you do and danged if you don't!

My husband and I are older (35/38) and we've been trying for nearly a year. We'll give it another year before we see any doctors. I've heard, though, that the average is 6 months. I know one lady with a 15 month old, a 4.5 month old, and she just found out she's 2 months pregnant. LOL For some people it's easy.

Movin' on up!
TOO easy - that's why some of us quit, while we were ahead!
All that I ever had to do, was reach for a belt buckle.

LOL

That's the way my friend feels. I also have another friend who we first realized was pregnant by the way she was eating. LOL We could always tell because she started eating like a horse and she'd bring tons of food into the office.

Our first is obviously not going to be so easy, but I have a stepson so that helps with the babyfever.

I hope all I have to do is reach for a belt buckle!!! lol OK..well, at least for now

I have never tried to conceive and have never been PG..so I guess I don't know how it will work for us nor if I even can. My DH had a sperm count way back when he was 18 for some medical reason and he is just fine. Now it is just a matter of getting it right!

I am at the 4 year mark of trying and it is difficult not to get discouraged. We will probably have to go the invitro route. Problem is we can only afford 1 or 2 tries (in Canada, abortion is covered by our medical system, but infertility isn't). Good luck to everyone trying!

ady:

4 years of trying is a long time. Have you seen a fertility specialist?

Cindy:

I was in your category. All I had to do was think about it. Both my son and daughter were one shot deals.

YES! I would say 4 years is a long time to try! I was told that after a year of trying, we could run tests, etc. for fertility. And how weird is THAT?! ABORTION is covered and fertility is not?? Yikes!

Of course, I have no idea what it is in the states.

ALSO......I am curious about that SARS thing in Toronto! Have you been like house-bound? That is some scary stuff!

Actually, that's fairly typical of many insurance companies in the US too. Abortion is covered most of the time, sometimes birth control is (sometimes not), but fertility is almost never covered. Truly an assanine system.

There is no problem in Toronto for most people. Only if you have been in a hospital or nursing home that have have people with symptoms can you possibly be quarentined. Most people go about their lives like nothing has happened, with a little extra hand washing.

I have seen a specialist - I have PCOS (polysystic ovary syndrome), I am getting a few more tests done and then going to be referred to an even better specialist then I am with right now. Probably start invitro within the next few months, only problem is each treatment can cost anywhere from $5000 to $10000 depending on which one you choose!

My cousin has PCOS and has lost 2 babies so far. She's not trying right now because she's not married right now.

We were told to give it a couple of years of trying and then go to the fertility specialists because we're still considered "young" at 35 and 38. So we have one more year.
