This is a little off topic and maybe none of you know, but I thought I'd ask.

My stepson has these bites all over his legs when he comes over to our house and he says they're mosquito bites. Small problem, we don't have mosquitos out here (or if we do, they're very rare). At first I thought they were flea bites, but they didn't scar like flea bites do. He keeps talking about his Mom popping them, but they're not zits. He also says he only gets them at night. Could these be bed bugs? I know they're real, but I've never encountered them.

Could be spider bites, bed bugs, mites, ants, no see ums, or fleas. I would strip the bed, vacuum and turn the mattress, vacuum under the bed, and spray him with bug repelent. I hope this helps.

I wish we could do that, but he's getting the bites at his Mom's house and she's not about to listen to us. *sigh* I guess we just keep keeping our place clean and they shouldn't transfer?

Teresa, what are no see ums?

MA, I watched a medical detectives recently where the presence of chiggers solved the case! I didn't know about them before that.

Thanks guys! My Mom thinks it's chiggers. She also told me how to look for bed bugs, but she says if it were bed bugs the bites would be all over and they aren't. She also says that chiggers have to be dug out (hence the popping) and there's an open field with long grass in it near his Mom's house.
