I just got back from petfinder.com online, and can't help myself...I wish I could take care of a few more kitties, or just at least a couple more, but hubby says no more kitties...well, I did tell him, when the kid are older, I plan on getting more..not sure on how many, but I just want another one so bad!!..I can't help but get all teary eyed going to that site...I have to quit going there knowing I am not going to be getting another anytime soon...

see little Nimbus here..I want to bring him home..Fort Smith is just an hour away from me...

Oh my gosh...I know exactly how you're feeling! I always visit the local humane society page and whenever I want to go and look at the cats, my husband says no - not right now - we have enough pets. He is a wonderful guy, but I can almost feel how you are feeling! I want another cat so bad it's crazy! I know for now I have to hold off, but I will continue to attempt to butter hubby up (even though he may not know it - I'll do it subtly). What's one more, you know? I can sympathize with your need for another kitty - I'm in the same boat! We can
together. I'm sending vibes to your s/o that he'll give in soon.

Hang in there.

Not silly at all...er...because I guess that's what I'm waiting for as well...a reincarnation of my 1st cat, Midnight. He was such a good boy. May we all get our wishes (this year
).

I don't think it is silly, either! Each pet has their own distinct personality, --just like a person. So, I think, when you see that shining through, you will KNOW it, in your heart! On a similar subject; I was at my friend's house last night, and she has 3 rescued little kittens. We thought they were 4 weeks old when she got them--but think now, that they were THREE weeks old! ANYWAY, they are all almost 6 weeks old now, and SOOOOOOO Hillarious!!! There is this one tiny little gray one (they all still have blue eyes--but are starting to turn a little bit green/blue) And he acts JUST like my little Spikey!! Spike is 8 months old now, but I rescued him at 4 weeks of age. So, I remember VERY well, his behavior patterns then! This little gray one (my friend named him Rebel) is SO funny--and acts like he is a big bruiser guy--and probably is about 4 1/2 inches long in total!!! HEHEHEHEHE

I am quite certain they are not related, as these ones were found at the local pound. Spike was found at an old grainmill at the edge of our town-abandoned by his Mommy. But to watch little Rebel--OMG!! I just laugh and laugh and laugh!! Oh, and between him and the other little black kitty (his brother)--they are like that circus act--
The Flying Walendas!!!

p.s. I wanted another kitty for SOOOO long, and finally, when I showed up with my little Spike (who was so tiny, he sat comfortably in the palm of my hand)--my DH said..."Well......hmmmmmmm"

I know how you feel. That is partly how I ended up with 12 cats!

Petfinder is a wonderful place, but it does get overwhelming to realize HOW MANY of these gorgeous creatures have no homes. I want to help ALL of them. Of course, realistically, I know I can't, and that hurts. It only makes my resolve to one day have a no kill cat rescue/sanctuary even stronger.

There's Hope

Please don't be mad at me guys.

After this discussion earlier today, I looked on our Humane Society page and there were these cute black kittens. I asked my better half if we could just go and look at them. He said he thought I wanted a black and white kitten. Well, while at the HS, they brought out 3 more little kittens - 2 were black and white. Coincidence?

So, to make a long story short, we're picking up our kitten tomorrow morning. I feel if my husband gave in, maybe you're husband will too, Rock&Fluff'sMom. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Got the room all ready tonight.

BTW, this will be my first kitten in 16 years. All our other cats were found/found us, etc. when they were at least 5 months old. We thought maybe it would be an easier transition for our other cats if we brought in a kitten vs. an adult cat. I'm a bit concerned how Lucky will react, but will post this in Lucky's story in the feral posts.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and sending good vibes to the rest of you who want more cats.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I never thought I would see another nimbus! I love that kitten.
Hubby was set on only moe and neo being inside but he caved. It was his idea to keep marble and granet. So maybe your hubby will give in to

Sandi, best of luck with the new addition!! Congratulations!

I remember when I said more than two cats was too many...now I have 12 and wouldn't part with a single one of them!

i'm at my limit now. Unless we get a bigger house
We have a kitchen, diningroom, living room. and three bedrooms. So each cat could go in a different room if they wanted
One cat per room doesn't seem so bad

I know how you feel! I loooove kitties, and want more than one, and I don't even have my first. I've started working on my fiance now, so hopefully sometime in the next five years he'll let me have another.

I think we all can relate. I'm at my limit, but not because of hubby. We're still living in apartments and it is hard enough finding places that will accept 2 cats. More and we would never be able to afford the deposits, or find a place in the area we want. Perhaps when we get into our own place one day.....

Oh Sandi, that is so exciting! See now I was just going to suggest that you "plant" another kitten outside and see how fast he comes around.
I mean, he couldn't say no to Lucky right?

I thought we would not have another cat and then Lucy started hanging around our house. Whenever we went outside she would follow us around, even out in the fields above the house. At night she would sit on the porch and stare into the sliding glass door. She was gone for a while and then showed up as thin as a rail and with a bad cough. How could we ignore her condition? We didn't. We spent $250 having her spayed and nursed back to health. Now she is a housecat and this is where she belongs. She never even acts like she wants outside again. Sometimes we pick the cat and sometimes the cat pick US!! You'll know when it's the right time to add another.

Well, so much for saying NO MORE CATS.
I got a call this AM from someone who has to find a home for his mother's cat. The kitty has been alone in the house for months, but gets daily visits. The other option for this cat was a kill shelter.

Of course, we said we'd take her.
That makes 13 cats. I don't know if we are going to keep her forever, or if we can find a home for her, but she is a beautiful long haired orange gal of about 8 yrs and deserves a better shot at life.

My advice to you all: buy stock in Nutro. The way we've been and will be buying it, I am sure the value will go up !

At least it's another girl. The ladies are outnumbered 2 to 1 here (8 boys, 4 girls), this will even it out a bit more...

BTW she is fixed and declawed. All of our cats are fixed, and 2 were already declawed when we adopted them.

We're picking her up tomorrow night.

Ok, I admit I was in denial when I said we'd find a home for her. We'll keep her, I am certain.

We've started to tell the kitties that they're getting a new sister tomorrow. This will make an orange cat majority in the house (Sunshine and Jules, plus Blondie is buff, a dilute orange) plus Tillie (the new girl's name).
