Happy Friday everyone! I am about 1.25 hours away from a 3 day weekend - I love the Victoria Day long weekend! Victoria Day is officially the Sovereign's birthday. The Sovereign's birthday has been celebrated in Canada since the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) in honour of her actual birthday, May 24. It was declared a holiday by the Legislature of the Province of Canada in 1845.
I will be so busy this weekend! Tonight is a world cup lacrosse game - Canada versus Iriquoas Nation. Last night Canada destroyed Australia 28 to 5 (ouch). Tomorrow I may go see the matrix at the drive-in. Sunday is another lacrosse game (Czech Republic) and 2 games on Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I hope that it stops raining her in Toronto or the drive-in will be a no go!

Happy Victoria Day!

We've got the Memorial Day weekend coming up here next weekend in the US. Same thing, three day weekend.

'Tis a rainy, grey day here in PA. Romeo, who has no table manners whatsoever, spilled over my BF's plate of scrambled eggs this AM in an attempt to swipe some off the plate. Efforts to teach him manners have not been that successful, sigh.

We're leaving in a couple minutes to go see The Matrix. The show doesn't start for 2 hours, but hubby wants to "beat the lines".
So I may become very well acquainted with the theater lobby.

Not much going on for me this week. My company bought me a SWEET software package so I can be more involved in and produce better marketing materials. It is the Adobe Design Collection (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat), so I'm learning a whole new realm of programs. I'm very familiar with Photoshop, but InDesign is a foreign concept right now! I'm so excited though, I love learning new things and this will certainly look nice on the resume!

Well, hubby is telling me we have to go, so I better scoot!

So few replies? I've had a productive day, although I had a bout of insomnia last night. I worked this morning, but this afternoon I took JC out in the yard, put him on his fixed lead, and marked tests for 2 1/2 hours. Then I found some good newspaper texts on the internet for my translators' class, and made up a test for a commercial correspondents' class. So now I'm goofing off here. It's a great way to relax! Hope you all have a great weekend!

I had a bout of insomnia of sorts last night too! Because I worked night shift for three years, it's been difficult for me to get to sleep at all before 4am. Well last night I really tried to go to sleep by 3am and it didn't work, I didn't fall asleep 'till four... Perhaps I'll start taking gravol until my body learns to go to sleep at an earlier hour...Right now my neck is stiff, my tummy hurts cause I'm hungry and I've got a heavy cat on my lap
She become such a lap cat lately-but only if I'm alone in the house and I'm in this chair. Funny cat.

Anywho, today is my last day at work (4-9:30) and then I have my weekend YAY!

Movin' on up!
I just got home from work. Rowdy and Buddy decided to run wind sprints, up and down my body, at 2:00 a.m. Its bad enough that I have to get up at 3:30, without those two waking me up 1 1/2 hrs. earlier!

Got a 96, on this week's test so, I stil have a job. Its payday, too. Just one week's pay, this check but the next one will be better.

Going to try to get out and look at apartments, tomorrow. Hope that I can do it, without breaking down.

Good luck, Cindy! How are you making out with the DOS stuff? My first PC was DOS, and I must have had 1001 "post-its" stuck around the study. What a nightmare. Hope things will soon be looking up! Aren't the "nighttime crazies" the worst? I dread full moons.

I've had an absolutely horrible day. We were going to a going-away party for one of Mike's friends from work, so we got up early, and I was going to make a nice breakfast. Well, he had to go into work to get her address, and by the time he got back, there wasn't time to eat, so I had to stop and put everything in the fridge. After the party we went to see the Matrix. I'm absolutely pi$$ed about that movie, I felt like I got completely ripped off. Then we had to take one of our friends home from the movie (the guy doesn't have a job, hasn't made his rent to his roomie for 3 months, but can afford to buy anime and to go to the movies) and my car stalled 2x.We were then heading out to my parent's house to fix his car, which is parked out there with no working clutch. We also had to get a part for Mike's car, another $45 that may or may not be what he needs to fix the problem (his entire CAR is the problem, but we don't have the money to get a new one). Then MY car died at the gas station! I had to have it towed home, 1 block away, and that cost over $55!!! Luckily insurance pays for it. So now I have to get a new starter for my car, and I have to walk to school orientation tomorrow! I'm thouroughly angry, tired, and depressed. I should have stayed in bed! and I think I'm going to bed soon before anything else can go wrong.

/end rant

Well, I had a pretty good day at work, my experiments were acting up, though, so I didn't get any good data. Oh, well.

I've been a zombie all day, though, because I stayed up with Andrew (Alex's twin) talking til 5am this morning, then got up at 7am for work!

Alex and I are doing something together tonight, not sure what though. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
