I am a sucker for anything sold on TV. I have been wanting a NuWave oven for some time now. The only thing that has held me back is the price. Then today, this infomercial for a Flavorwave Oven Turbo comes on, featuring Mr. T. I've looked at both websites and the ovens are a little different...one uses halogen as part of its cooking process, the other does not. Does anyone out there have one of these ovens? I'm determined to get one, but really hate to invest over a hundred dollars in something that may be a major disappointment.

I don't know anything about ovens, but there are reviews for both the Nuwave and Flavorwave ovens on Amazon.

This one seemed to get the best reviews: Nuwave 20322 Pro Digital-Controlled Infrared Tabletop Oven, Black

I'm just an old-fashioned girl and love my standard oven. That Nuwave gadget would just end up as another appliance sitting at the top of my cupboard or taking up space in my cupboard.

OOH! A guy at work just got one of these. (NuWave) He had it delivered to the office and uses it at the office!

He was recently in the hospital with kidney failure, and now has to have dialysis 3 days a week, and has to watch his diet. While he was in the hospital, he would be awake in the middle of the night while they were doing things to him, and the infomercial came on and he got one.

He seasons everything with herbs, since he can't use salt, and he's done chicken, steaks, veggies, lamb curry.....he's tried everything. And he feeds us.
Everything turns out juicy and delicious and it's so fast. The steak was so juicy, I couldn't believe it!

And the cleanup was really easy.

Tom (the guy at work) knows so much about this thing and talks it up so well, a gal at work bought one! He's like an infomercial himself!

Nanner, you've just made a sale!

I'm going on Amazon to check out the other reviews and then my oven is on its way!

I looked at it and I would never use it. It's too small for most of what I cook, and doesn't look very easy to clean. I see this being somewhat comparable to the George Foreman grills, and I know a lot of people who bought that, used it a few times then gave it away.

I bought a portable roaster when my kitchen was under construction for 6 months. I used it a few times, but noticed that it didn't brown things very well, and took about twice the time to cook anything decently. Portable "ovens" just aren't what they are advertised to do.

It's too novelty and doesn't look like it will hold up very long. Sorry to be a bummer about it, but I've bought novelty things like this and never use them for long.

I bit the bullet and ordered it! The shipping and handling was $39.00. Yikes!

Whoa! Cool!

I think you'll love it, actually. I've watched him clean it and the cleanup goes very quickly and efficiently.

And everything he's done comes out nicely browned.....he did a pork roast that was incredible.

I would get one, but I don't have enough storage space in my apartment.

I'd be interested in whether you actually use it on a regular basis or if after a few weeks/months it is relegated to a cupboard.
