Hello!
Does anyone have any articles about cat nutrition that explain why higher quality or grain free foods are healthier for cats?
I am trying to convince someone to switch from cat chow to a better quality cat food... I need something I can easily print out and hand to them.

Thanks!

Cats are obligatory carnivores. They are direct decendents of the lion, tiger, cheetah, cougar etc. You will never see one of these animals stalking a field of corn or oats. Cats pancreas cannont tollerate all the carbs that are in the grains, vegies and fruits that the food companies load into their food. Do not believe that your cat "craves" grains. Balony!! The site you need to visit is www.yourdiabeticcat.com. The vet that runs it has written the book "Your Cat". The site and book are an invaluable tool to keep your animals healthy. The forums are great! Feeding the correct food for these little carnivores is imperative. My diabetic cat never had insulin. It is controlled totally by diet. 95% meat, low carb and low fiber. Please visit this site. You will be amazed at what the food companies have put over on the pet owners. Knowledge is power. Hope this helps.
