Which Rex?

I like the Devons
But Cornish do tend to have nicer coats.

Which Rex? Devon or Cornish. I say go for a Cornie
not biased or anything.

Keep in mind that only the Sphynx and Rex can be shown in CFA, ACFA, and TICA - the Peterbald is only shown in TICA.

I would go for a sphynx. I know Cleo would love a bald friend, as our girls love each other and sleep together all the time. Two of my devons sleep with them as well. It's so nice to see everyone gets along so well too. If you are looking for a show cat, I would want to be careful with the Devons as they are sporadic with their molts etc and you never know what they will look like when their full coats come in, which can take till 18 months of age. I do have a soft spot for devons though...they are so soft

*looking very innocent*........I'm only biased about Cornies as I am with Ocicats

For a long while there were no ACFA shows in California - but there was one in January (Monteray). I know there are TIcA and CFA shows - so you would want a breed that you can maximize shows.

In Minnesota, we only have 2 CFA shows close by (Twin Cities) and so I tend to stick to ACFA where we can go from Fargo, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota - can get a good 6 or 7 ACFA shows in a season

I vote for a sphynx too. I think they are so cute. I never really liked the look of them, in pics i had seen in the past. But, with a few of yous on here getting sphynx and posting their pics, I realized how adorable they are
I plan on getting one in the future. How much did you pay for Cleo btw?

CORNISH REX!!!!

My Radar is only a Cornie cross, but they are awesome! I see so many bad coats on Devons (some of them have bald patches throughout their lives which is not desirable if you want to show), and you can't tell whether the coat is going to be show quality when they are little, so I say go with a Cornie because they tend to have better coverage from their coat and it is more consistent as they grow. Even with Cornies having a show quality coat is not guaranteed as the coat quality changes when they get their adult coat, but it is more likely they will end up with a good coat than Devons IMO - never seen an adult Cornie with an awful coat.

They are bonkers though

It would be a Cornish Rex if I decide on a Rex not a Devon.
I have a few months to decide on wat breed to get.
I want to show Cleo a few times first.

Just let me re-iterate - Cornies are bonkers. Which is a GOOD thing
I have 2 OSH and Cornie cross, Radar, and out of all of them Radar provides me with most entertainment and makes me laugh most - he is a natural born clown. His pranks aren't sophisticated - it's like sharing your home with someone who puts a whoopie cushion on your seat every day, and every day when you sit on it he laughs as if it's never happened before - that's the best way I can describe it - and he's only half Cornish. But the thing is that he's a cat, yet he still gets humour from the jokes that human kids would appreciate - it's incredible having a cat that can devise 10 different ways of making you jump out of your skin and all the while he has a laughing expression on his face, and you can't help but laugh along with him. They are definitely the practical jokers of the cat world - if they can make you laugh or shriek once, then they will find ways to make you do it over and over.

Thats funny.
It will be hard to decide what breed I want.
If Cleo does ok would I be able to shw both breeds at the same show if I got a cornish rex?

Yes you could, many registries let you bench them in cages next to each other (one of the reasons many people in the UK no longer show with GCCF is that if you show different breeds they are caged in different parts of the showhall, even different colours of the same breed can be caged in a different row - not popular amongst exhibitors for obvious reasons!) But most shows you can show both and have all your cats caged close to one another.

I vote rex, I just love rex cats! (Don't have any, as I don't see any in shelters, and all my cats are rescues).

I've shown more then one cat at a time. Usually kitten/alter or a HHP. One time I put 2 alters against each other (C. Rex and Russian Blue). Was kinda "running" the rex for regional wins and if they were shown together (both granded) the RB was beating out the rex. So I had to stop showing the RB against the rex)!

Charlie and Jack will go to the April show cause they are in different classes - but I won't show them against each other - Jack is better.
