Within the last few days I have noticed a skid mark stain (with no actual poop) on my carpet. It smelled poopy when I put my nose to it. My cat walked by it and scraped at the carpet like he was burying something. This happened two times.
Then I found a wet poop on his tail. I practically shaved his behind with my scissors.
Tonight that smelly wet poopiness was on the base of his tail again -- I took a wet soapy washcloth to it. He was NOT happy with me.
I have not noticed any butt scooting. I have noticed him licking his butt but he does this anyway.
It grosses me out to think he's been on my bed and the couch (and yes, sometimes the counter) with a poopy smelling butt!
It there anyway to look at the anus to see if there is a problem?
