Freeway Carbuckety

Freeway's outdoor odyssey ended this morning just after dawn, after the rains ended. The owner of the little store up the road from here saw it happen. Freeway was with another cat he had met, and they were crossing the road. The first cat made it across, but Freeway did not

She said that it was over quickly, and that he was gone in the few seconds it took her to get there. I'd put a poster at her store, so she called and said that a cat that looked like the picture had been killed. I went up there, and surely enough it was little Freeway. The rain has no doubt washed away any scent he could have followed, and the two of them were traveling in the wrong direction, headed instead toward Windyville.

I've gathered up his blanket and his toys, and we will bury him underneath the birdfeeders with Turvy, Nauti, Cabela the D.O.G., and Mungojerri Yella the feral.

omg I'm so sorry to read this. My heart is breaking for you I know you did everything you could to find him and we were all praying for him to come home but I know that sometimes its just out of our control.

Rest in peace, darling Freeway. My Alley will help to welcome you to the rainbow bridge.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to wake up to this news today. It's nice to know that he'd found a friend to go on his hoboing adventure with and that when his end came it was quick. And sad as it was, I'm glad you were able to be notified quickly, so that you have closure, and were able to take him home.

RIP little Freeway, you charmed the hearts of so many! Have fun playing over Rainbow Bridge!

I am sorry to read of Freeway's sad ending to his adventure. He is starting a new one with all our R.B. kitties.

This was so not a name I wanted to see here. His time with you and the rest of the tribe was too short but at least he had a loving home while he was there. Hold your tribe tight tonight... especially Hobo. I'm sure they'll be missing their youngest member.

I am so sorry to hear of Freeway's death. He was way too young. Rest in peace little one.
