a weird question about constipation remedy

Hello all,

My question may sound outrageous.... my cat has a little bit of constipation... I read about some hairball remedy, like Petromalt, that may help.. but I don't have any on hand... do you think it would be safe to give her Vaseline????.. it is also Petrolatum jelly...

I also read that a high fiber diet may also help.. like adding bran in its food... Would it be ok to mix oatmeal in it instead???

Please do not give you kitty any vaseline or petroleum jelly. Instead take a small amount of mineral oil and mix it with canned food, stir it well and feed that.

They also have hairball dry food that you can buy, and a new product called Kitty Fiber.

Instead of bran, try feeding canned pumpkin (uncooked)
