A dear friend of mine (and probably the best guitarist I know) has been comparing guitars, pedals, amps, etc., and recording it all for a Gretsch guitar forum he's involved with.
As a test, he played the same song on two different Gretsch guitars, with all other elements unchanged... and although he started out just making it up as he went along, it turned into a very beautiful, very spiritual piece of music. If you love the guitar, I think you'll enjoy this little technical-test video:

(By the way -- he designed and manufactures the Tru-Arc bridges that are used on these guitars. And he calls the song "Anniversary Waltz" because these guitars were produced for Gretsch's 125th anniversary in 2008.)
