hi everyone!

My big tom cat Jorj, was a rescue cat. I have had him about 2 years now I think. He was never one much for "hugging!" but did allow me to pet him.

Lately when I try and pet him he crouches away from me, as if it's sore? Or as though I am going to smack him? which I dont ever do of course. So its odd. He is ok, skin and fur fine, diet eating all good. Pooping fine etc., Ive also noticed he "often runs and crouches when I approach him".

I'm not sure why he has started doing this of late. He is now about 6 or 7 years. He does visit my neighbour (as he LOVES MEN!!) and my neighbour often falls about as he is elderly and has a sore leg. Perhaps this has made Jorj a bit skitzy?? and nervous?

thanks for any feed back

All I can think of off the top of my head is using a Feliway diffuser and maybe some catnip treats. If you think hes in pain, perhaps a vet visit is in order. Has your neighbor notriced the cat acting weird?

does he act weird if your sitting down petting him? maybe your shoes scare him. new shoes? My cat Holly is terrified of shoes that make noise on the floor, like heels and boots.

hello Meowers!

Gosh! I think you could be right! He is fine if I am sitting, or he is sitting next to me!
