Maybe under that shed where you were feeding that stray cat?
I just checked under the shed again about 10 minutes ago. Zephyr and his buddy from the Kitty Hilton Barn across the road, Mr. Plonk are both there, but no Freeway.

So, I gave the boys some breakfast and plugged in their heater. It'll be light in a couple hours and I'll head out looking again.

When my daughter's dog disappeared recently, we posted fliers on every post and pole for a 3 mile radius.
We put fliers in grocery stores, coffee shops, vet offices and door steps of all neighbors with her dogs photo and an offer for a reward.
On the second day we were successful.
A good person, 3 miles away had found Matty and taken her in for safety.
He spotted us putting up a flier and stopped to ask if we were looking for a lost dog.
Matty was returned.
The angel who found her refused the $500 reward and restored my faith in humanity.

It is gut wrenching when this happens.
Keep at it Mike....
Freeway is out there, waiting to come home.

Sending TCS's most powerful vibes that today, Freeway comes home.
Freeway

Oh no! I haven't been on much and just saw this thread, but I will add my name to the list of people hoping for Freeway's swift return.

Adding my to the group's. Freeway is one of my favorite's, I hope he is just out "hobo-ing" (maybe he's heard too many cat tales?) and will be home very soon!!!

Still no luck. My neighbors were kind enough to open their outbuildings just in case he'd gotten into one of them and couldn't get out, but he wasn't there. I don't know of any way he could have gotten under the house, but I went into the crawl space and checked it out anyway.

So I'm trying a new tactic. I'm on the roof with the laptop, some coffee and binoculars. If the wind isn't right, he may be very close but not getting a familar scent.

Adding more for his safe return! And even MORE that you're very careful up there on the roof.

Oh Freeway, come home!

Here are some extra "Mike be careful on the roof" vibes!

Mike, have you sprinkled some used litter out in the yard?

I haven't sprinked any around, but I have his "number 2" litterbox sitting on the deck.

So sad is it that the little one is lost outside, I hope you find him soon. Katrien many times goes outside, but she knows it well and Laarbeek is a small village. All know her and where she lives and treat her like neighbors.

It's mid 40's F right now, with a light rain. I had to cut short my rooftop lookout. And it supposed to be in the 20's tonight

I don't know if this makes you feel any better. But when we moved to our other house, mum had let Charlie and Jazzy out only a day after we'd moved in (i thought it was too early), they didn't know the neighbourhood, but they came back at night time. Also years ago one of our old cats Klingon needed to see the vet, we had him in the carry case and when we got up the end of the street (about 500m from our house) he managed to push his way out and escape into a very bushy paddock that none of our cats had ever been in before. It was also over the main road. He found his way back two days later (he was also a very old cat).

Don't know if that helps, but i hope it does.
