Hello to everyone,

I'm one of those people who is considering adopting a cat.

I always wanted a dog when I was a kid. Cats seemed not to bound to their human companions as dogs did(Actually there are other things like training but I can say that this is the main reason, when you are a kid everything seems different).

Years have past and I had the opportunity to get familiar with cats. I realized that cats also bond with their owners and have many great qualities making them good companions. Moreover they seem to adopt apartment life easily which is great for a man living alone in an apartment.

I especially liked the Russian Blue breed's behaviour from what I learned from the internet but I realized that it is hard to find a rb kitten.

There are lots of things that I'd like to know but I'll cut it short since this is an introduction topic.

If you go to your local shelter, you can check for a kitten that could pass as a Russian Blue. If they don't have one, you may be able to ask that they give you a call if they get one.

It's true that cats can survive quite well in a small space. Our Punkin lived in our truck for weeks at a time, and he had less than 8 feet by 8 feet. I know many drivers who keep a cat in their truck.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I hope I'll learn a lot before I own a cat.

Right now I don't want to rush things. First I want to learn then create the right environment for the future kitten. I think it will take several months.

Btw, since I liked russian blue I am also in search of a good breeder. I'm hesitant to adopt a kitten since it may turn out to have a very different behaviour, but of course I may be mistaken.

Thanks again.

I wanted a dog so badly too! But then two yrs ago my fiance bought me a kitten, and now Im a crazy cat lover with two cats
the bond is more dependant on you and the particular cat than anything

Anyways, welcome to TCS!
