Hello, I am new here, and have searched to see if I could find any post on RC and found only 2. My 13 year old Maincoon has been throwing up daily for 6 weeks, ran a blood panel and all was great with that. Vet suggest his prescription RC (I have been feeding Wellness). I home feed my dogs Dr Pitcairn's diet and used to home feed the kitties, but it was just too much for me. My dog forum (very fussy dog owners) hate RC (but RC was recalled food during the dog food crisis). My dog forum feel vets push Science Diet and RC prescription food for the generated profit. What do you all think. I want my kitties to live forever

I have a 14 y/o Maine Coon who threw up about once every week last year UNTIL I switched her to RC Indoor Mature. She has thrown up maybe twice in the last 7 months (once was a hairball). We are on a mix of Wellness and RC Active Mature (she needed more protein) and she's doing well on it.

I have to agree about prescription food being pushed by vets for the profit. It's the same thing drug companies do to get their medications prescribed by doctors.
I hope you can find out why kitty is throwing up so much, though.

Funny, my vet must be the only one that doesnt push/offer food...

I know that RC is great for specific breeds of cats. Alot of breeders like them too. I would trust my vet on that advise.

Must be
We took our kitten in for his distemper shot yesterday and the vet noticed that he has some gingivitis, and then for about the next 10 minutes she rattled off a sales pitch of all the Science Diet prescription/Friskies rx brands that could help with that that they sell right there in the office...
