but does he/she miss YOU?

I know that when Dottie goes out the door to go to work, Sterling will sit at the door and cry as if he's been abandoned.

When I come home, no matter what time of the day or night, Punkin is always at the door waiting for me, always greeting me with rubs, etc.

So it seems like at least those two miss us!

Nova lays in front of the door as soon as she sees that we've put on our shoes, grabbed keys, or grabbed our coats.

When my SO leaves before I do, I get to hear Nova let out a big pitiful cry.

When we come home, she runs to the door to greet us and rolls around and chatters at us.

My strays and ferals recognize my car and they all run to it...I don't think they miss me though, they just want food!

Nora does the same thing. She cries and throws fits (throws herself onto the floor, very dramatic like) every time she sees us put on our shoes or grab our coats. There was one time my husband and son left and she didn't realize that I was upstairs, and she sat and cried, cried, cried while they were gone. She has terrible separation anxiety.
I feel so guilty every time I have to leave.

I feel guilty when I leave too Kara. Maggie sits in the front window watching my car pull out of the drive and she looks so pitiful with her mouth open mewwing. It's heartbreaking and it takes all I got not to go back inside! When I come home she's at the door waiting for pets and rubs following me all over the house till I sit with her.

Mine don't seem to particularly care when I'm leaving but most of them are at the door when I come home
It's nice to be welcomed home!

When my husband leaves in the middle of the day to run some errands (we both work from home) Thor will start to cry the sweetest, most mournful little squeaks you ever heard. I have a suspicion he does this when we're both gone too.

Otherwise, whenever we both come home, they're at the door waiting. Mostly to see if we've tracked in some snow so they can play with it

That's exactly how mine are. When I'm leaving, they give me these little unconcerned looks from there resting spots like asking "Oh, are you going somewhere?" But when I come home, they're stacked up at the door

Oh gosh... reading some of these posts has me worried about what happens when I leave for work.
I have no way of knowing how the cats react when I leave, but I know that they are always waiting by the door when I come home. Bodhi meows at me and waits for me to pick him up and cuddle him. I like to believe they miss me, but I hope not too terribly.

Spooky lays in front of the door so I have to pick him up and cuddle before I leave. Then once I do leave he cries at the door and then runs to the balcony door and watches me drive away (still meowing). It is really quite pitiful.

Mulder just follows me around until I leave but doesnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t cry or anything when I leave.

They both run to the balcony door and watch me when I pull up outside and then meet me at the front door meowing, rubbing and purring when I come in.

Well, I'm not sure if they're greeting me when I come home or trying to tell me that they want food. After their feeding, Obie will find me and want some play time no matter what I'm doing. Girlie will follow me around the condo after she finishes cleaning herself.

...Oscar will just sit under the table and wait for the next feeding time

My husband told me Raven
used to get up and start waiting by the door an hour before I came home. Raven
used to get excited when I came back from short trips, like taking the trash out. Talk about feeling like a rock star.

Our 3 usually greet me at the door. If the others are slacking, Nabu is always at the door anyway. My husband says they sleep all day when he's home, but usually if I am home all day they are up and about with me.

Toby has been spoiled because someone has almost always been home with him since we got him last year. When we do go out, we put him in the laundry room so he won't get into trouble and he looks up at me with these scared eyes and cries like a baby. It's SO sad! He gets so terrified of being left alone, that the second he sees anyone put on a jacket or shoes, he hides under the bed and is almost impossible to catch. I don't know why he's like this. My other two cats didn't seem to mind being home alone, but he's scared for some reason. He has gotten a little better lately, but he still doesn't like it.
