Baby (Cat) is scared of my girlfriend..

Hey everyone I have 3 cats (Snoop Kitty Cat, Baby, and Spot), Snoop and Spot are not afraid of my girlfriend but Baby is. Whenever my girlfriend comes over Baby immediately runs down the basement and hides in the closet. She never really was afraid of my girlfriend until about a month ago because I've been going out with this girl for about 3 1/2 years and I've had baby even before that. I know my girlfriend would never abuse her either. Is there anyway to get Baby to trust my girlfriend again? Thanks!

My boyfriends' cat runs away at the sight of me..
In my case, his cat doesn't like a lot of attention and when she wants attention, it has to be only when she is seeking it. I adore cats, so every time I go to his house I'm all over his cat and apparently she doesn't really like that...and so now she runs away ..
Something similar can be happening with your cat too...Or it could just be a specific smell, maybe your girlfriend changed the kind of perfume she wears or something...

There's one sure way of getting to a cat's heart, through their food bowl, hah. At least that works for some.

Try having your girlfriend feed Baby, maybe that will gradually help the cat gain more trust in her again.
Or everytime she comes over, give Baby a treat or some sort of reward. I know some owners do this positive reinforcement when it comes to dealing with carriers, and it might work in this situation as well.

Maybe she can leave a sock or something that smells strongky of her at your place? feed you cat catnip or food near it
