I have had the original drinkwell for about 2 years or so. Works great and I have never had an issue with it. In fact, I have no issues with it now. But with 2 cats I tired or refilling it 2 times a day because they drink so much. I am debating whether to just get a reservoir for the one I got or upgrade to the platinum. I am leaning towards just doing an upgrade. Thing is I have read reviews on the platinum that the motor is louder on this one and there are leaking issues. Anyone that has the platinum have either or those issues? Or any other issue with the platinum that they did not have with the original.

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

This is the worst litter I have ever tried in my life. The cats don't care, but I do - it stinks to high heaven and doesn't clump at all like it claims.

Hi! I've had a platinum for a while now and I haven't had any problems with leaks or the motor being too loud. I use it for my one cat and clean/refill once a week. Our apartment is kind of warm (75F in winter and 78F in summer), so I think the water evaporates somewhat fast for me.

It was less expensive for me to go with the reservoir. With 5 cats and only one fountain running at the moment (although I have two, I haven't set the 2nd up yet,) I wind up filling the reservoir once every 2-3 days. I have the smaller reservoir.

hmmm sounds like there may be some issues with the platinum if you have only had it 2 mths and you randomly have to smack the top of it because of a humming noise. How loud is this humming noise? Is it making the noise because the motor/propeller is sticking or debris is getting stuck in the propeller/motor. May be I should just check the price on on reservoir for the original I already have.

I've had the original for about 2 yrs now. I bought the reservoir about 6 months ago because I got tired of refilling it after we went back to having 3 cats. I waited for a sale and a Petco PALS coupon, and I got a pretty good deal on it. Now I only refill about once a week.

We have the original, and the reservoir works well for us. We probably add water about once a week (maybe a little more often in the winter).

i have the platinum. don't have any issues with it - doesn't really make much noise unless it's low on water.

I have the regular with a resevoir, probably fill it once a week to ten days. I never had the platinum.
I may replace the one I have with dog version. In the summer I could use more capacity than the current resevoir affords.
