the UTI may be cleared up, but perhaps there is something else wrong?

He's trying to tell you something.. an animal isnt loving and affectionate for 5 years and then suddunly turns into Mr Hyde for no reason.

I am at a loss for words... How can you be so mad at a cat? Poor kitty! He doesn't know any better than to be a cat... You on the other hand... You are not only a human, but an adult too! Please calm down, let him be alone for the night, and take him first thing in the morning to the shelter, so that he has a chance to have a family that will give him the love he deserves. Something is definitely bothering him, he could be in pain, or suffering, and all you can seem to think is me, me, me! Changes of behavior is one reason to take him to the vet, and not to harm, or throw him away. You had 5-6 years with him... how can he be disposable for you like that?
if you can't contain yourself, at least call someone to get him out of there. Since you have no more friends left, call a family member, or the cops!

Maybe he's in pain of some sort. Try running your hands gently over his body, talking to him softly, and see what gets an angry reaction from him. that may be the only way he will be able to tell you what is wrong. Maybe he just doesn't want to be touched at all, something may hurt internally. Please ahve a heart and don't turn him out just because he can't 'tell' you what's wrong. You wouldn't like it much if it was you. He needs you, even if he is being snotty right now.

Where has this kind human been gone? It looks to me that Mr. Jinx is not the only one who has had such drastic personality change?

Do you remember your time working for the Humane Society?

What did you learn from that experience? I hope you have not forgotten - it sure sounds like it though.

I guess I am just frustrated at the fact that all of my so called "friends" end up hating me or just simply forget about me for some reason or another.

With an attitude like that, it isn't hard to see why.
I hope you feel so much better for taking out your frustrations on your pet cat, because I really doubt you'll be scoring any sympathy from anyone given the nasty things you've said. Maybe the best place for your cat is the humane society, where he'll be treated HUMANELY.

And if you're really interested in feeling better then maybe you should get some help... because either your loneliness is causing you to become completely irrational, or you're a cruel person with no conscience. Seriously, Mr. Jinx is a cat. He doesn't "hate" you.
You're doing the same thing to him that you claim "your friends" did to you.

"friends" like that were never really friends to begin with.

Most people only really have one or two true friends.. the ones who will stick by your side, despite all your problems.

Now, he is just like all the others. I am going to be taking him to the humane society tomorrow, as I no longer see any need for him as he is starting to treat me like crap for no reason. It is as if he no longer cares.
Did you ever thing it may be you? Honestly? I don't you know, but it sounds like you are trying to "blame the cat for not loving you". Gee....what kind of mood are YOU in?

Yes, I did read the thread all the way through. Mr Jinx doesn't know what to make of you now. You are angry, you are frustrated, and he doesn't want to be around you.

You said, and I quote "He was sadly, the last friend I had. Now, he is just like all the others." And I ask, what is going on with you???

I'm going to talk from my heart. I know things happen in life that can't be helped or stopped. Sometimes life doesn't do what we what it to do, and that is something that is out of our control, but we have to keep on going.

I'm not going to jugde why you are putting your kitty out just because you are mad at the world (and that's the message I got, if I'm wrong, please...please.....tell me wrong), but I WILL tell you, kitties, doggies, any animals are good therapy for anything wrong. Yeah, they are a LOT of work, and can get annoying, but they also pick up on emotions. That can be a good or bad thing, depending on your mood.

I just PLEASE ask you, don't give up on your kitty just because he cares and he realizes something is wrong. That is no reason to put a kitty out on a very cold night.

Go tell your cat you love him...right now, and mean it.

Maybe you just need a good cry? Sounds like your bottling up alot of emotions and hurt. You dont have to tell anyone. But please, let the past go and think about what your saying... your cat is the only friend you have left, and you want to give up on him?

Honestly??? Are you sure YOU'RE ok? This may seem odd, but have you had a doctor's exam lately? If your cat is treating you differently and he's not had a change, and you don't think you've MADE a change, I would personally think very seriously about your health. He may be telling you something...

Well, just consider that...that he smells or senses something different about you. It could be a warning that there is something wrong, or maybe you have changed your schedule up recently like going to a different shop or marketplace that he can smell is different...

I think it sounds like you're suffering from depression. You need to seek help for yourself, and deal with whatever it is that you're going through. It sounds like you're peeved with the world, and projecting people emotions onto your cat.

I have never known a cat to scratch someone up enough to requires stitches - even a feral cat that managed to attack my husband couldn't manage that.

Please, go seek counselling for yourself, and think about whether it really is your poor kitty's fault. If you still believe it is, then take your cat to the shelter, he does not deserve to be mistreated.

Have you drank anything tonight? It sounds to me you are depressed... Now it also sounds like you don't have a job... And the majority of these posts didn't sound like yourself at all. So, did you have some alcohol tonight, that maybe made you lose a bit of control over your emotions?

I had a beer at around 6pm last night, at my mom and dads for dinner. I came home, ate a home made chicken cordon bleu sandwich, played XBox 360 until about 11pm when I tried to sleep I couldnt so I went out to get iced tea and milk. When I came home, Mr Jinx attacked me when I went to pet him. He came up to me on the back of the couch like he normally does, with his ears pricked forward and he meowed at me like he does when I come in the door. It was just so sudden.
