My Mom dropped her cell in her glass of iced tea the other day and it's pretty much dead. (She did the rice thing, it will turn on but goes right back off.) So she needs a new cell. Mom isn't technically 'hearing impaired' but she has had trouble with some phones in the past because of trouble with her ears.

So does anyone have a suggestion on a phone that might be good for her? She's so not happy to need a new phone!

I don't have any real suggestions but you should just go to a cell phone store and talk to them. I bet they could give you some ideas.

I have an LG Dare. Like most phones these days it has an amplifier which can be touched to raise the volume. I would say most phones these days have that feature, ask to make sure. I am in the condition your mother is and it helps me a lot.

how does she feel about using a headset (ear peice) with the new phone? that might help since its in her ear, not just next to it, and you can turn it way up.
